Description: We took over Brabenec’s in July 2007 and introduced a British menu using only the best fresh ingredients, changing our menu regularly in keeping with the seasons as much as possible. Our food is kept simple with no frills! It is all about the flavour and consistency of quality that we have worked hard on over the past few years. The same is to be said front of house, with skilled staff working very hard to create a warm and relaxed atmosphere in the restaurant at all times. At Brabenec’s we value all of our customers very much and as a thank you we offer a loyalty card. Every customer that dines with us is offered a 20 per cent discount card to return and use within the month. We look forward to welcoming you in the near future.

It was with sadness that we learned that Brabanecs was to close this week. It was our favourite restaurant in Northampton with a lovely atmosphere, great staff and delicious food. The Sunday roasts cooked by Matthew were, in our opinion, the best for miles around with great choice of freshly cooked meats and vegetables cooked to perfection. The house wines... More

Beware ! Booked family meal for 10 persons well in advance, queried the fact of high number of people and was assured no problem. 3 days prior the restaurant rang and cancelled the booking and while apologetic refused to give a reason for cancellation. Have eaten at the place many times before but will not eat there again, beware any... More

I've been here a few times, and it's excellent every time. The menu is phenomenal, locally sourced meat and game, super fresh fish and the only thing frozen is the ice cream. Only negative comment I had from my last visit to this one was that steak tartare had left the menu, and I was really looking forward too it.... More

I appreciate that perhaps not everyone immediately aims to pair food and wine together - however unfortunately I am one of those people. The chef here really caters for great food, the menu is varied and provides one mouth watering dish after the other. I had the Beef Wellington as my main course and thought that it was cooked perfectly... More

I visited this restaurant last night with a friend, I have been many times before, and the food as usual was top class. In terms of value for money and fresh, quality food Brabanecs cannot be beaten. I had the mackerel as a main, and my friend and I shared the chocolate and fig tart and the raspberry, ginger and... More

I love Brabenecs and have been several times before. First with friends, then with family, and back again with my sister. Every time I have tried something new and it has been exceptional! However, each time I have been, I have waited at least 45 minutes for a main course to come, which is a little excessive. It is also... More

The food was excellent - contemporary style yet traditional flavours, served piping hot and excellent value for money with a wide choice. The atmosphere was lacking (although it was Tuesday night!) and the venue is dated but the food more than compensates. Only critical comment would be that the service was simple and amateur - we were impelled to sit... More

Visited on saturday evening with friends. Welcoming staff with a smile. The food was exceptionally good. Prepared and cooked by Matthew, the owner. An excellent menu with choices for everyone. Restaurant was full and the atmosphere was excellent. This is a place that is on our "must go again list" Well done to all the members of the team.

This was our first visit to Brabenacs for almost a year and you never know if things will have changed, we were pleased to see that the restaurant looks the same as before, quirky and retro, the emphasis here is on the food and the service rather than the setting. We didn't recognise a single face from our last visit... More

I'll start by saying that only awarding 4 due to the decor could be harsh. The food was excellent. I had smoked pigeon for starter and the red snapper for main and both were excellent. As for wine the Malbec was so good everyone else was ordering it and we couldn't get a second bottle - much to my dismay.... More
