Situated in the heart of the Northamptonshire countryside 2 miles from Althorp House, the ancestral home of Diana, Princess of Wales. A traditional village inn with character and charm. We are a privately owned and run free house with a selection of well kept real ales and lagers plus an extensive wine list. Runners-up in the Northamptonshire Food & Drink Awards 2009. A great place to spend a lunchtime or evening.

Fabulous Food, Warm and Friendly Service

This is a lovely traditional village pub with a warm feel. We joined friends who live fairly locally for a meal. The food was fantastic, very good quality, it was very tasty and well balanced. The duck starter was superb, and our friends enjoyed scollops. The fish and chips are very good, my wife... read more

We have eaten here twice before at lunchtime and have been impressed and so based on the reviews and awards the pub has won we went for a Thursday evening. Well, sorry to say was very disapointed. The food was luke warm and the plates were cold. My other half had the steak, which was tasty, but what happened to... More

Spur of the moment dinner on a Saturday night. food was very tasty, well presented and the option for a smaller plate suited my partner very well. The wine and ales were both delightful. Good service with a nice local rural feel to it. Would return. Thank you.

We decided at the last minute to drop into the Saracen's Head for an evening meal. We chose off of the main menu and the specials board and all our meal were lovely. We had 2 starters, 4 mains and 2 puds and not a single complaint. The waiter was attentive and helpful and food was A1. The pub also... More

This is a particular favourite place to visit when we have friends to impress or when we just fancy a treat. The food never fails to impress and the whole atmosphere is always lovely. While in the summer it's lovely to sit outside and look across the fields it is equally as lovely in the winter when it becomes cosy... More

Popped in on our way home from Whilton Locks. Was very busy and a lot of tables were reserved but we managed to find a table in a few minutes. For starters we had the mushrooms on toast which was delicious and my Sunday roast pork was yummy!! My hubby had the vegetarian roast which was good too. Kids had... More

Have visited several times this year as this is our nearest proper local pub. The food is always excellent and the service attentive, without being stuffy. I can highly recommend the ‘Posh Ham & Eggs’, of which all similar dishes wherever I eat now are measured against. It is refreshing to visit a pub that serves good food, but also... More

Enjoyed the new tapas menu at the Saracens Head. Good list of dishes and the 6 we choose were all beautifully cooked and prepared. Particularly liked the lamb, potatoes bravas and the battered fish. Recommend you give it a try!

We visited as a large group and were generally impressed with the level of service from the staff. We ordered a good mix of standard pub food e.g pies and were impressed with the food. The starters were fun and we enjoyed the wine with the meal.
