Exceeded expectations

Delicious meal with friends on Saturday evening. The menu was fabulous with food and service to match. So often it's easy to be disappointed by so called gastro-pubs but the Saracen's Head lived up and exceeded expectations. We will be returning.

My husband and I took our father for a meal and we had a really lovely relaxing evening. The staff were very friendly and the service absolutely spot on. We were spoiled for choice with the menu and the food was gorgeous...as well as being very well presented! This quaint pub had a lovely ambience and I'm looking forward to... More

The food at this old-fashioned pub was delicious, with staff very attentive and helpful and willing to fine-tune our orders, including cooking coeliac portions separately in some cases. A most enjoyable family meal in a pleasant rural setting.

First visit to The Saracens Head and I was really impressed with the food and service, I think it must be one of the best pubs for food in the area!

My husband & I visited for Sunday lunch today and it was generally excellent! Our starters, in particular, we're lovely. I had a warm salad of balsamic beetroot and green beans, with goats cheese & dressed leaves - delicious! Hubby chose the garlic mushrooms - also lovely. I had the roast beef to follow and the beef was cooked to... More

Great inn, better than a pub in the village centre. Bags of parking and great views over rolling countryside. The building is old and quaint. Our section of dining was not too large which created a nice friendly attmosphere. Service was slick by the young staff. A menu query resulted in the owner appearing promptly with a charming full description... More

Our family, five adults two small children , needed somewhere to eat on Easter Sunday. We were pleasantly surprised that the Saracens Head was able to fit us in. The meal was excellent, generous portions, tasty food. The staff were really pleasant and helpful, couldn't do enough for us. We will certainly visit again soon. A really great find.

Food here was excellent, better quality than I would expect for the price (~£15 for a main), so very good value too. Everything we ordered sounded interesting and came out well cooked and nicely presented, and most importantly was delicious.

All i can say is perfect .Still has the charm of a traditional pub not spoilt by a big chain and corporate stamp and image .Staff excellent and food fantastic and great value .Nice to to see them supporting local producers.

I went to a works leaving do last Saturday eve 28/03/2015. We had a private room which was great. the food was ok. I had the Posh Ham Egg and Chips. the Gammon was warm not hot which was a pity but it went down well. The staff were tentative and we mostly had a great night. A little more... More
