We travelled as a family to meet near to my mother's house. I booked via Hannah to get a time to suit the family. Whilst we had looked at the website and trip advisor I have to say the reality is even better. There was a good crowd of people eating; staff were polite and attentive; lovely decorations; fantastic service... More

Delicious Sunday roast with pink beef and all the trimmings followed by some quality fruit puddings. A quiet village, just right for a short stroll after before travelling on. Well worth hunting out. Tempted to stay next time.

A cosy pub which welcomed our Labrador, and although the restaurant was booked, we had a lovely meal in the pub.

We visited the Saracens Head today after one of our party had read a review in a National newspaper. Having read the last few tripadvisor reviews we were slightly concerned but went ahead with our booking anyway. We arrived and were greeted by the most wonderful, quaint pub with very friendly and organized staff. Our food arrived shortly after we... More

Had Sunday lunch here for the first time, the building is beautiful and the dog is extremely well behaved. The lunch was nice but by no means amazing, shame as I had high expectations due to the previous reviews.. Waiting staff seemed a little disinterested, maybe we went on an off day?

Our lunch reservation was for 12.15 and I am home posting a review at 14.15 which doesn't bode well. Our starters of sardines and terrine were adequate if overloaded with rocket. I'm never impressed when the mains arrive immediately after the starter plates have been whisked away. My partners beef was OK but not pink and was edged with fat.My... More

Just returned home after probably the worst roast we have ever had. Starters were fine but when it came to the main (Sunday roast) what a disaster. Two thin slices of beef (not pink) as stated on the menu, a very small bowl of mixed up veg, by mixed up I mean various veg dumped in a little bowl which... More

Off the beaten track, little hidden gem of a place that doesn't need to boast about the quality of food, beer, wine and ambience it has to offer. It's the sort of place that offers great place to eat, drink and relax indoors or outside. Quality of food was fab, good choice for every pallet. Stylish presentation but not fussy.... More

From the labrador to the bar and waiting staff, we were made to feel truly welcome here for lunch. The food was well above that which one would normally expect in a pub, (but at pub prices) clearly cooked fresh from an imaginative (but not challenging) menu. The setting was all you could wish for, beams, stone, lovely village setting.... More
