While visiting family In Northampton , this food pub was recommended to us. We had dinner on Saturday evening and it was very pleasant. So much so, we went back the next evening as well. The food is of a decent bar food food standard but it is the staff that make you really welcome and comfy. I really regret... More

My wife & I visited this riverside Chef & Brewer pub/restaurant on a Monday evening (June 23rd) with a client who we new would appreciate the open air eating area next to the river on a lovely warm evening. The venue was very clean & outdoor seating comfortable. The barman was very good but over worked, with customers waiting to... More

Can get very busy as its in a office/trading estate. Food is good and staff are attentive. Outside seating area by water is always a draw. Prices are a bit more than you would expect, probably down to all those expense accounts. Not sure if you can book. The day we visited just walked in. Like most resturants now days,,... More

Generally a very good evening out. Service was very good as was the food if you exclude the minute Bubble and Squeak starter (very tasty but equally very small). My partner's gammon steak was excellent. Value for money, however, was debateable. Two downsides - my fork had hardened food still on it. Not a great start. This is a service... More

We were staying in the Holiday Inn down the road for a two day break and as I have been to this restaurant recently I thought I would return with my wife . Its only a ten minute walk from the hotel and well worth the visit. I had already pre-booked a table as last time I came up at... More

We went to the Britannia for the first time in ages on a last minute whim last night and it was fab! Service by Suki was great and the special burger was absolutely to die for. It's a slightly pricier menu but I think you get what you pay for :-) We will definitely be visiting again!

I have been here a few times now the food is great. The special set menus such as on valentines day are quite good can be a bit pricey but the food is real good quality. The lunch menu is good for 6 pounds but not alot of choice. I do remember a chicken burger being on the menu before... More

Sometimes I think I would be better staying at home and cooking myself. This was one of those occasions. Firstly, the menu is the usual pub grub. I just wanted a salad but as I do not like goats cheese there was very limited choice. I decided in the end to have scallops(starter) with a side salad. Even as a... More

I visit The Brit often as it is so close to our office. Pre-Christmas the place was so understaffed and the service from the kitchen was appalling on so many occasions that I wrote a review slating the place. Other reviewers did the same and we all lamented the demise of a once great pub. It would appear someone has... More
