Pre theatre dinner....

What a lovely little restaurant...came upon this by chance and were welcomed warmly shown straight to our table and were also asked by the Lady if it was a pre theatre meal we wanted which obviously meant as they were busy we were not going to be kept waiting.... This proved true within 5 minutes... read more

Very sad, the Vineyard was known as one of the better eateries in Northampton - it's gone down hill and a long way. Either save your money or go else where. The menu promised much on paper and that's where it should have stayed. I struggle to find anything positive to say about the food, clearly not cooked from fresh... More

We had just finished watching our matinee theatre performance (which was fantastic), so feeling buoyant, we chose to go to The Vineyard (on it's reputation of being brilliant, from a few years ago). However, sadly this was not to be the case this evening. There was 1 other table of 3 diners seated and we were pleasantly surprised to be... More

Thank you very much for your trip advisor review. We appreciate all feedback positive or negative. First of all we did have a very busy week last week so we are unsure of what date you came to visit us. All of our food is sourced from local suppliers who deliver every morning. As we were very busy one night... More

Absolutely beautiful meal-steak was particularly impressive! Staff were also very attentive in both terms of food and theatre timings. A very impressive and enjoyable experience.

Service a bit awkward, garlic mushroom starter and cream of tomato starter both good, but unexceptional. Sirloin steak ordered rare, was very thin and therefore medium rather than rare, dried out rather than juicy. Chicken in Cajun spices looked and tasted bland. Both main courses were propped up on roasted? lumps of potato. Chips were thin-cut, but were overcooked (yet... More

Having been turned away from 3 restaurants and looking for a pre- theatre meal, we stumbled across this place. The lady was very obliging and managed to squeeze us in. We opted for the 'two- course' pre theatre dining menu which was excellent value for money and lovely tasty food. Three of our party had steaks and thoroughly enjoyed them.... More

We visited on Saturday eve for a pre-theatre meal. It is somewhere we had always thought about going because in the past we had heard very good reviews - you always needed to book to get in. Unfortunately we were very disappointed with the restaurant - it felt a bit unloved and the food was poor to average. We had... More

Just got back from dining here with a friend, I opted for this restaurant as I have a Tastecard and saw through using the Tastecard App that they accepted the card. I dined here a couple of years ago and had a lovely meal so was looking forward to visiting again. We were the only two in the restaurant which... More

Booked this restaurant last minute, as a quick dinner before going to watch a show at the Derngate. They had a really good and reasonably priced pre theatre menu. The food was lovely and excellent value for money. Vegetables were fresh and the chips tasted amazing. I will definitely be returning with my friends and family.
