A refreshing change from a 'chain' restaurant. The home-cooked food was well presented and delicious. A friendly, warm and welcoming atmosphere. The only aspect that could be improved was the vegetables, which were too plain and didn't really fit the excellent main dish. We'd go again. They do a very well-priced pre-theatre menu. They are members of the Gourmet Society,... More

I booked a table for 6pm on a Saturday night and the pre theatre menu. From the moment we arrived the staff were very attentive to all our needs despite the restaurant being full. The atmosphere was fantastic, a real bistro feel with people chatting, drinking and eating...so much better than a main chain restaurant, The food was excellent, for... More

We ate here before going to the theatre. They have a pre-dinner menu for £13 for two courses. We have fishcakes & garlic mushrooms to start followed by the pork and the homemade pie. The quality of the food was simply superb, served by a very friendly and helpful team. Whilst we had a time constraint of getting to the... More

Didn't realise this place had a one star rating so won't be visiting! I wondered why it wasn't displayed on the door

Thank you for your brief review. It is very unfair to judge on a hygiene rating which you clearly don't understand the concept of. Let me list the reasons for us receiving a one star hygiene rating last January 2014. - The kitchen needed a paint - The tap needed replacing - We needed some sealant around the sink All... More

Very sad, the Vineyard was known as one of the better eateries in Northampton - it's gone down hill and a long way. Either save your money or go else where. The menu promised much on paper and that's where it should have stayed. I struggle to find anything positive to say about the food, clearly not cooked from fresh... More

We had just finished watching our matinee theatre performance (which was fantastic), so feeling buoyant, we chose to go to The Vineyard (on it's reputation of being brilliant, from a few years ago). However, sadly this was not to be the case this evening. There was 1 other table of 3 diners seated and we were pleasantly surprised to be... More

Thank you very much for your trip advisor review. We appreciate all feedback positive or negative. First of all we did have a very busy week last week so we are unsure of what date you came to visit us. All of our food is sourced from local suppliers who deliver every morning. As we were very busy one night... More

Absolutely beautiful meal-steak was particularly impressive! Staff were also very attentive in both terms of food and theatre timings. A very impressive and enjoyable experience.
