Good average pub style

Quick efficient service, menu nothing out of the ordinary, but nevertheless tasty and well cooked. The location is very good with interesting railway related stuff to look at. I would go again and recommend to people.

This pub is in a lovely location, next to the Brampton Valley way, with views over a pond and fields, really pretty. There is plenty of outdoor seating to take in the views. Menu is the usual pub fare, and they also have a specials board. Weekdays they do some meals at two for £13.95 which is good value although... More

I'll keep this short and honest because a few of the recent reviews got it spot on. The venue is a lovely venue, great views, lovely outdoor terrace , nicely furnished etc etc. Unfortunately the food is rubbish , I got the soggy burger with a lump of coleslaw thrown on the side! I asked for sauce to go with... More

Visited yesterday for my niece's birthday. The food, service and decor were wonderful and well worth more than paying in your average pub restaurant. Sunday dinner was £12 but worth every penny. Ideal if you want to celebrate a special occasion. The only criticism was that we were seated near to the kitchen and had about half an hour of... More

We went here on Sunday 10th May and will be back very soon. I had the special ; sole fillet wrapped around prawn and Salmon mousse with fennel salad, beautifully cooked and presented. Up there with recent visit to Michelin star restaurant. Very friendly and helpful waiting staff. Very family friendly, also a beautifully landscaped outside dining area adjacent to... More

The setting of this pub is lovely, with lots of outdoor seating, perfect for when the sun is out. The food is really good and the staff are very polite. The service was quick and has a great atmosphere.

For anyone who has been here before, you'll know how picturesque the loaction is of this pub, and you'll know how fantastic the staff are in general. However, when I ate here last night, I noticed the menu seemed exactly the same as it has been for years, and it's somewhat uninspiring (side note: the actual menu card was filthy... More

The stand out dish here has to be the nachos. The chips are hand made and portion size v generous. Easily enough to share. Sunday roasts all looked good and the specials board was very tempting. I had a very tasty flat iron steak. This is a great pub with the added bonus of the heritage railway next door. A... More
