Amazing afternoon tea! First a 3 tier stand of savories & sandwiches, each one delicious. This was followed by a 3 tier sweet stand including scones, jam & cream. We did manage (just) to finish our selection, but we did see the staff bringing out takeaway boxes if required. Service was excellent, we had 2 pots of tea. I also... More

This little tea-room is adjacent to 78 Derngate, the Rennie MacIntosh museum and is delightful spot to eat before or after a short tour. We had a light lunch (a choice of sandwiches and hot light bites eg Gnocchi) but, although we didn't sample them, the afternoon teas looked spectacular. Good service and relaxed atmosphere.

Fantastic afternoon at the Dining Room on 23 August. They found us a table at short notice (I booked on the phone that morning) and the three of us (three generations!) had the most splendid afternoon tea. This has got to be one of the best teas in the UK, not just Northants or England. Beautiful savoury selection, followed by... More

We visited here for a family afternoon tea trip, which was a little disappointing. The selection was ok, but the sandwiches were very sparse & a wider choice would have been better. The scones had a lovely texture, but we're quite bland in taste. Also, the room where we ate didn't have the right atmosphere for an afternoon tea, which... More

It was nice to go to some where, where I didn't feel like a leper. Walked in offered tea, said I had my own milk told not to worry they had milk for me also, I was given my own cake stand with sandwiches and other savoury treats on, to my amazement they then bought me out another cake stand... I was treated to 'Afternoon tea' for my Birthday, by my daughter and little 3 year old grandson, this was our second visit and we enjoyed the food and friendly service as much as our first! This has to be the best 'Afternoon Tea' in Northamptonshire, would highly recommend!

We had a meal here for our family when we got married in 2012. The whole place was ours for the evening, and Rachel and her staff looked after us very well. Several members of our party commented on how good the food and service was (and not just because we were paying!). The set menu for the event was... More

We went by train for 78 Derngate, and had booked at the Dining Room for lunch. We were more or less on time, having walked from the station on such a hot day, and sitting inside in the light and airy dining room was bliss, especially with a pot of Earl Grey tea and a hot water jug of cold... More

Visited on the back of the other reviews and was not disappointed. Lucky for us the sun was out so we sat in the garden and enjoyed the homemade menu. Once the roadworks have finished this will be a hot spot for all occasions.
