Nice place to eat, friendly and good food

Nice friendly service. Good food and if you are on a budge worth taking the family good value for money , children can play and they are very accommodating and welcoming to too.

Nice local pub, with friendly staff and lovely food with plenty of choice. Does get busy sometimes so worth booking in advance.

We had another great meal at the Cock this week, good choice of menu and friendly staff to make us feel welcome. Especially impressed with the freshness of the food. Husband had t bone on steak stone and loved it, partly for the novelty value but partly because it was tasty. I had fish of the day which was served... More

The menu is quite small, but I think that is to their benefit. The food is clearly all fresh and tastes great, and very good value. Had to wait a little while for the meal to come out, but they were very busy. The staff were all very friendly. A really lovely local village pub. We had a delicious meal... More

We had our annual re-union here again the other evening, and although the numbers were down this year, Pete, Vanessa and their crew did a great job of keeping us 'vittled' during the evening, despite considerable crowding which made it difficult for them to serve us comfortably (only a problem for them not us). We had stupendous plates-full as always,... More

Six of us visited this pub last night, and all of us thought what an excellent meal we were served. I can go so far as saying it was the best rib eye steak I have ever had. The food was excellent and the service great. Found the staff very friendly. We will definitely be going back soon!

I have visited on a number of occasions. The food is fantastic and reasonable priced. The landlady never forgets a face and will also make you feel welcome. I love the summer when you can sit in the garden with play area for the kids but also the winter with the roaring fires providing that homely feel. Definitely worth a... More

I recently visited for an evening meal with family and have to say that I was left extremely disappointed by the whole experience. The pub itself lacked any real atmosphere and the quality of the food left a lot to be desired. Judging by the prices on the food menu, I was expecting and looking forward to food of a... More

Great atmosphere. Good beer and excellent food. The open mic nights are great. Free music - what more could you want?
