This is a nice pub that serves average food, I don't understand the rave reviews..........the food is OK but not great.

Sunday lunch was excellent. Great choice. Service was impeccable. Waiter who was very attentive and knowledgable. Lovely setting. Will come again £13 for 2 courses.

I went to the royal oak for a snack on Sunday and decided on ordering Sunday lunch ...wow the food was great delicious beef and potatoes the pudding was hard but the gravy softens it up. I will be back for more!

After reading a review on TripAdvisor we decided to go to Royal Oak for a Sunday roast. In summary delicious food, great atmosphere and exceptional service, from Beth who greeted us through to our waiter who went above and beyond to ensure that we were comfortable.
