Our waitress was so awesome we went back the next day. Emily was great. The old Ales selection was good and the food very good. This place is charming and close to everything, right outside the main gate. Lots of options on the seating very romantic low key setting. Not noisy or busy.

Food not hot, only warm. Veg was frozen. The beef meal I had only contained 3 tiny pieces of beef...not enough to scare a vegetarian. The plus side was the gaffer kept a nice pint. Would not recommend to anyone else.

Lovely smallish eating area at rear of pub. Very friendly staff, great with the children (age 4,6 and8). Really nice pub food in a relaxing, friendly atmosphere. Definitely recommend :-)

Fish and chips (little fish), little quiche Lorraine and beef in sandwiches with chips. With 3 glass of water 22 pounds. Poor quantity, normal quality, beautiful rooms.

Lovely little pub, but the food not that brilliant. Went here as we thought we would have a change wish we had gone to the cross keys, one of us ordered meat balls with pasta all she got was 3 tiny meat balls in what looked like a bit of tomatoes sauce with the paste, others ordered fish and chips... Friendly sevice and nice atmosphere. However, the sausage and mash arrived in a bowl swimming in boring packet gravy with three small sausages that had been pre boiled and browned and the consistency was of soft sawdust. The mash was lumpy. There were no other vegetables or garnishes so the visual appeal was very ordinary. Such a shame

Returned to this pub that we visited a few years ago. The we one was just as warm, the beer just as good and the food as delicious as we remembered! Karl really keeps the ale well and the menu is varied and interesting. And the locals are friendly and welcoming! All in all well worth a visit. Highly recommended!!
