This is the perfect place to come at lunchtime for a good value three course meal. It is claimed to be five or more courses but this includes the pickle tray (really freshly made and delicious choices), pappadoms, coffee and other items all separated out. Nevertheless the lunch menu which has recently just been raised in price a little still... More

This Indian restaurant has now changed it's name and ownership. Do not be put off from outside or some of the poor reviews. We luckily tried this place as it was convenient near to our hotel on a rainy Friday night and boy am I glad we did. It looks small from the outside but you'll be amazed how far... More

This place is located next to Bootham Bar. It is now called the Raj after a complete refurbishment The King Prawn Patia as a starter is highly recommended. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I have to laugh at the below review by ,0rigane-fashion,who wrote a review as long as War and Peace. Each to their own I suppose... More

We walked in to a lovely reception and the place is like a tardis.Small shop front leads into a huge well maintaned seating area.I ordered a vindaloo and was warned about it being hot.I wasnt dissapointed as it was boiling hot and i absolutely loved it.My partner also enjoyed her meal and we thought it was good value for money.... I went in there one evening to get something light to eat after my afternoon course, and because I study, have to budjet myself with food. I already knew I only wanted a lentil soup(which are usually very tasty in most Indians) and a few popadums. I was presented with the menu nevertheless, and then I ordered what I wanted,... More

We were recommended to here by the staff in our hotel, when you look at it the front looks like a small take-away but when you enter and are shown into the restaurant you are suprised at the size of the seating area, it is a really nice place, smart and very clean. The staff were friendly and the food... More

I ate there just last night and the food was good, when it eventually arrived. The staff were friendly but I really could have done without being asked if I was going to leave a tip!

As per usual when I am in York I went for a curry at Tandoori Nights on a cold Saturday night with a group of friends. All I can say is that everything from the service, to the food and drink was perfect. The owner - Sean, even threw in a complimentary drink for everyone at the end of our... More

We checked in lateish to our bed and breakfast which was a short walk from this Indian restaurant just on the "outside" of the York Wall and started out walking to investigate restaurants to forage for food. We love Indian food but were hesitant to go in due to the small storefront - we thought it was was basically take... More

This is the most disgusting 'Indian' restaurant I have ever been in. There is nothing Indian about it. It wasn't my choice of venue and I was braced for British Curry rather than genuine Indian food. The menu lived up to my expectations, offering Baltis and Tikka Masala. However, that kind of cuisine can still be tasty. I (foolishly) decided... More
