My wife pre-booked afternoon tea as a treat for my birthday whilst we visited York. We were booked to attend on the Sunday but decided to drop in on the Saturday on the off chance that they could fit us in. The cafe was really busy, as was the rest of York but they still managed to find a table... More

Good simple food served in comfort, There was a queue of people waiting to be seated, but fortunately for us, they wanted a table for 6, we only needed a table for 4. So were seated earlier than we expected.

Great location, cozy spot, excellent food, great service, you can tell that lots of love goes into this place from the people who run it, really can`t fault it. We had breakfast there & a cake while visiting York and it was great. Would recommend.

Went looking for pot of tea, ended up with lunch, cake and tea!!! All food and cakes made on premises. Not the biggest cafe but well worth the visit whilst in the Shambles. Staff are fabulous and the atmosphere is great.

My husband and I called here for a late lunch whilst visiting York. The cafe itself is pleasant and the lady serving (I assumed to be the owner) was welcoming and friendly. The menu is varied and the prices good for a city centre location. I asked for a variation to my lunch on what was stated on the menu... More
