Great service...Better Cake!!!!

Popped in here during a weekend away with my Mother and was delighted. The staff were efficient and friendly (despite being obviously very busy) - our main course was with us in around 10 minutes and tasted amazing only to be outdone by one of the nicest desserts I have ever had (and I have had... read more

A return visit to this café for lunch. It truly understands gluten-free and dairy-free. The sandwiches on the menu look expensive until they arrive at your table: they are a complete meal on bread, with plenty of filling and salad with crisps. Service isn't fast, but the sandwiches are made to order. Butter is substituted for olive oil if requested.... More

A lovely café, with friendly staff, nice menu and delicious food. On our first visit we just went in for tea and chocolate cake but as it was so nice returned the next day and enjoyed lunch with toasted bagels with melted cheese and beans.

I bought a take away lunch for my friend and I today. It was excellent home made food, which tasted delicious. We were given serviettes, cutlery and cups that made us feel we were eating a feast not a picnic and such great value for the cost we paid. Will tell everyone about it and would definitely recommend it.

We decided to eat here whilst shopping in York & found the staff to be pleasant & food nice. I would recommend sitting upstairs by the window as the back of the cafe is quite dark.

I have visited York a few times and I know from experience how lovely afternoon teas can be. I came here for my Aunties Birthday as a treat, I had never been here before but looked at some reviews and felt confident this wouldn't disappoint- I was mistaken. I was first greeted at the door by a woman who seemed... More

We had family visiting from Iceland and took them to York for the day and wanted afternoon tea, but not Betty's. We found this cafe recommended on Trip Advisor, so gave it a try. The quality of food and service was brilliant, so much so, that when my wife wanted scones without currents, they made a special batch. Where else... More

We went here before heading back home for an afternoon tea. All of the little rolls and sweets were lovely and we couldn't have faulted it at all. I saw some other people on another table getting a salad and one having a jacket potato which both looked plentiful and very appetising. I would definitely go back here next time... More
