What a lovely surprise when we found this little restaurant, the food was excellent, the lady that served us was very helpful and friendly, and a good price if you eat early.

Having visited on a busy Friday evening, I cannot recommend The Lime House highly enough. I visited with a party of 11 people and from the moment we arrived staff were accommodating, with warm welcomes and friendly manors. We were impressed by the flawless timing of each course. Everyone's meals arrived conjointly, so no one was left waiting. The food... More

My Wife and I visited the restaurant on Saturday 6th September. Our table was booked for 9 o'clock. The restaurant is a long narrow affair consisting of a front half of about 6 tables then a narrow corridor housing kitchen and bar followed by the main part of the restaurant. We arrived on time and entering the restaurant there was... More

Had a superb meal last night for Kate's Birthday, food was excellent and very well cooked. Staff very friendly throughout our visit. Prices all very reasonable for the high level of quality, would highly recommend as one of Yorks best places to eat.

We ate from the table d'hote menu which was fairly simple but tasty. The service was friendly but haphazard and the price was average for what was served. Lacked a bit of atmosphere.

The restaurant is small but the quality of the food is exceptional. Service is good given the small number of staff. Menu highlights include venison, wild boar and red mullet. The deserts are not for the calorie conscious. All this at a value for money price.

I found this lovely family run restaurant on the internet and wasn't disappointed. It's a reasonably small restaurant with candles and soft music playing. The waiting staff were very pleasant and attentive. The food was delicious and plenty of it. We had starters and a main course and couldn't manage a dessert which I was disappointed about as they sounded... More

As always a lovely trip to York. I had often seen The Lime House on my trips to York but this is the first time my daughter and I went. It is a little more expensive than some other places in York but their lunchtime menu is very reasonable and has a good choice. We opted for the three course... More

No booking required for this gem in beautiful York. Although busy, the service was very good and our food arrived in good time. Starters and mains were first rate and there was no room for dessert. Reasonably priced considering it is in the heart of York. Well worth a visit.
