Went there after good tripadvisor reviews. Slightly disappointed as not as great as we'd expected. However, fine for a lunchtime snack.

I went to the nook for a slam poetry night but was far more enamoured with the delicious cocktails, expertly served by the very friendly dreadlocked bartender. For as little as 3 quid they are a total and bargain and absolutely delicious. I will definitely be returning!

Stumbled upon The Nook whilst shopping and I'm so glad we did!! It was lovely and cosy inside and the food was delicious - we both had the Moroccan Tagine. It was so good that I've tried to recreate it myself since! If I'd been more hungry I would have liked to sample a cake as they looked delicious.

The Nook is a great little cafe. Frequented by locals and tourist alike. Very laid back service which is nice. Definitely better than those horrible chain venues that blight the city. Support the independents!!!

Me and my boyfriend walked round York looking for somewhere to get a 'light bite', we very gladly stumbled upon The Nook. Very cosy and quirky place which we loved! The lady who served us was very nice and the food was absolutely gorgeous! Ended up filling us up instead of just being a light bite and I couldn't finish... More

After being disappointed by poor service down on the riverside we found this little place and were so glad we did. Lovely peaceful atmosphere, excellent food and great service. Will definitely call again next time I'm in York.

I have visited the Nook twice for a light lunch. The chicken pesto wrap is just delicious and today my lunch partner had a really tasty bacon panini. The coffee is hot, rich and large. I have so far resisted the luscious-looking home baked cakes but not for much longer. Really nice young staff. It's just a small place and... More
