Great meal, great ambience

loved the ambience although would have preferred it if more than one unisex bathroom. Friendly staff however and lots of room at our table

Ok first the negative, typical lunchtime wait for food is 30 minutes but that's because its cooked to order. When we placed our order the lady serving was quite up front about the wait and we decided to go with the flow. Drinks arrived quite quickly, not sure why another reviewier received a 'small tea cup', mine was quite the... More

Quirky cycle themed cafe with cheery staff serving food that they seem proud of - what more can you ask for? We had a salad & a jacket spud and both meals were pretty good. Hot tasty coffees complimented well. Prices were average for a York cafe, but the atmosphere is really first class. Worth walking those extra yards to... More

Lovely find on mickle gate. Quirky place with nice food including vegan and gluten free choices. Loose leaf tea too :) We both had an halloumi burger ( gluten free bun for me) with really nice chips and salad. £7 each very good value. So nice forgot to take a photo! Finished off with jasmine green tea. Lovely friendly staff... More

I visited for Sunday brunch with friends, having been in for coffee and cakes previously. We arrived shortly after opening time (10am) and were glad we arrived when we did as it soon filled up with cyclists and bikes and families. M and C both had the full English breakfast, and E and I both had the vegetarian breakfast which... More

You wait an age beforte the order gets to you. Forty to forty five minutes to rustle up tea plus a sliver of cake. Some rude staff, I was very curtly directed to the toilet by one man, all in all I challenge anyone to find smaller cups of tea anywhere. I believe it is very overpriced and just poor.

What a fantastic little place. Welcoming but not in your face. There is a quiet area downstairs. I sat and checked my emails etc whilst having the perfect cup of tea and delicious cake. What more could you ask for after a long site seeing trip round York. Will definitely call in when I am in the area.

We started coming here just after it opened and have never had a bad experience. Great food, lovely atmosphere and excellent staff. Breakfast is definitely recommended and always some great cakes on offer. Downstairs seating option is spacious yet cosy and we've found it particuarly good when bringing younger children. Definitely worth a visit!

Came here for the first time on our lunch hour from work. Was quite busy but got a seat easily enough. Nice sounding menu so I opted for a fish finger sandwich & my husband chose a bacon, brie & cranberry toastie. Finally after 35 minutes (35 minutes!!!!) the food arrived. I'd been up a few minutes prior to it... More
