The beef comes from cows that are in a field about 1 mile away so most definitely 'local' We had medium fillet which was perfectly cooked, it came with all the trimmings and given we had the Yorkshire pudding with onion gravy starter then absolutely no room for dessert! Good beer on tap too so worth a visit if you're... More

This is a very old pub in a very small village near Pocklington . On the edge of the wolds. It does such good Sunday lunches that booking is essential . Definitely worth a visit.

Had an unbelvable meal at The Gait last night. started off with a couple of pints, followed by yorkshire puddings for starter, And an excellent rump steak and chips for main! Will 110% return, a little hidden gem just outside of Pocklington

I,ve visited this place for over 30 years. It doesn't change much. Went again today for a beer at lunchtime. Unique, interesting, old fashioned friendly and good beer too! I'll keep going there!

Hi, if you want value then you may have to choose carefully off the menu. Some dishes are a little expensive but they may be fully worth the price! We choose two sets of sandwiches one of gammon and one beef . Reading the website the beef is from the owners own farm. I must admit for £3.50 a sandwich,... More

Situated in the picturesque village of Millington (the only pub in the village), this is a very good old fashioned pub. It makes a change to go in a pub that does not look like every other pub. Open every day but Monday ( a recurring theme with pubs in the Yorkshire wolds) the pub sells real ale and food... More

A good steak at a good price. Very friendly staff and a warm welcome. I'd go back if it wasn't so far to travel...we live in Australia!

We ate here when staying at the Ramblers Rest across the road, there wasn't any other choice besides getting a taxi into Pocklington (as we cycled here) but we weren't disappointed. The welcome was friendly and the food hearty home cooked, tasty food. A traditional country pub with reasonably priced food. Would recommend.

A friend and I dined here as we stayed overnight in the village as we tackled the Yorkshire Wolds Way walk. We had booked a 7pm table but had to make this later at short notice, which wasn't a problem. We were warmly greeted by the owner, Stuart who was happy to engage in conversation. There was a good selection... More
