Great fish and chips!!

We visited here last week as a party of four. The food was very good; the price very good, particularly the Senior's Special and the service was excellent. The place is spotlessly clean and well worth a visit if you're either staying locally or visiting the area.

Can't fault this. Great fish and chips - not at all greasy. Excellent quick and friendly service. Good menu for kids and parents enjoyed the discount for seniors. Free bread and butter and tea a nice touch. Will visit again and if you want great fish and chips look no further.

We make a point of visiting this Fish & Chip Restaurant whilst in the area The Seniors Special is a 3 course meal for £8.95 which is excellent value. A choice of home made soup, fish and chips and choice of sweet, tea or coffee. The staff are EXCELLENT and really make a effort to accommodate the "Wrinkles"

Find it off the A1237 roundabout to York Business Park but turn FIRST left in to Ings Lane at the BP garage. We are used to having Cod served locally ,so were disappointed to see only Haddock or Plaice on offer at the Wetherby Whaler in York. But on trying the Haddock can honestly say it was one of the best... More

After a trip to York, we called in at Wetherby Whaler on our way home. Excellent quick service, food was super and generous portions all washed down with apple pie & a cup of tea.

Now as a non fish eater I was concerned about what I would eat here but they offered salads and chicken dishes. The Chicken Goujons were lovely and the chips weren't greasy like a typical chippy chip!

I have been here a few times and we were not disappointed, it was as I remember it. The place is very clean which I love in a restaurant. The fish and chips were amazing and the staff were friendly and helpful. The service was good, not too slow and not too fast. There is a good choice despite it... More

On our previous visits to York we had eaten elsewhere. On this occasion we would try the Whaler. It is a popular eating venue and naturally the main food was fish. We were made very welcome and the staff were very friendly. The waitress suggested we go on the part of the menu for pensioners. We got a good portion... More

Took my entire family ranging in ages from 78 years down to 14 years old here on Saturday evening for dinner after a day at the coast. Although busy (it's a very popular restaurant) we were seated promptly by staff and the waiting service was friendly and efficient. In fact all staff are polite and very welcoming. The food is...
