A lovely treat awaits!

We stayed at Grays Court and decided to try the restaurant - we were extremely pleased with both the service and the food. Wonderful food, beautifully presented and lots of it - would definitely return

I really love this place which is tucked away behind the Minster and fortunately doesn't get crowded so you can usually have a lovely peaceful coffee / lunch or whatever. I have been lots of times but for some reason never left a comment before so I am putting that right now! Service is always good in my experience as... More

Visited Grays court for afternoon tea with a friend - superb old world setting with a lovely view over the walls. The afternoon tea was as expected with a choice of tea's or coffee - the only downside was we were left waiting for our order to be taken (15-20mins) and it was not busy. The staff though were very... More

Location 12 out of 10; staff service 10 out of 10, sandwiches disappointing, cakes & desserts so sweet off the sugar scale! Lovely hidden gem to leave the halibaloo of the Christmas Market behind!

The long gallery at Gray's Court is a lovely place to sit (if you ask for the loud music to be turned down or, preferably, off) and meet friends and I suppose that's why you pay a high price. A cappuccino costs £3.50 but it's not very strong and it's not very warm. Then 10% is automatically added to the... More

Thank you for posting your review as we need feedback to see where improvements need to be made. It is clear that you did not receive the service you should expect from our team here, and that your coffee was weak and tepid is far from satisfactory. Your waiter should have checked back with you to see that you were... More

My son and his new wife chose Grays Court for there special day. I cannot begin to tell you what an excellent venue they chose. The service, attention to detail, all the staff, food, the quality of the venue and accommodation were all excellent. Cannot speak highly of the planning and the general feeling that you were part of the... More

Grays court used to be very much a tea room when it first opened a few years ago. It's now more of a restaurant. Calling in for a cup of tea or coffee has become very much a special occasion as it really is so lovely to take time out from a busy York to sit in one of the... More

Ate here for dinner once which was enjoyable. The dining room is small and a quiet atmosphere. Good for a relaxing evening.

Went here with a friend for a late lunch after she recommended their food. Asked for some advice from staff over which sandwich to have - not very helpful. Ordered a pot of tea and the hot water was not particularly hot. I normally expect a 'check-back' at most cafes/restaurants - this did not happen. We were left with our... More
