Definitely a little hidden gem. The soup is absolutely fantastic. The staff are very friendly and the whole place is spotlessly clean

Hi Chris, Thanks for the review and as you experienced much more than just fish and chips, with many home made dishes, soup, steak pie, lasagne and so on. Quality food, value for money prices and service with a friendly smile is what we aim to deliver. Thanks again Regards Tony More

I had seen the sign on the A64 for a new fish and chip place a few times but opted for a Macdonalds every time. Went into Scotts and it was delicious! Home cooked fish which was thick and moist. Not seen fish that chunky in years. The batter was great and the chips were nice too. I will definitely... More

Hello and thanks for the review, We do provide prime Icelandic fish from sustainable fishing waters, all cooked fresh to order. This means you get thicker meatier fish, which we believe is the best. Chips are new crop and again cooked to order. Delighted you enjoyed it and come back soon. Regards Tony More

We have been regular visitors to Scotts ( was tritons) over the last year, today was another excellent meal, one meal was salmon and salad and my friend had the regular fish with chips and peas, they were very busy but we were served very quickly and efficiently, we find all the girls very friendly and efficient, too full up... Since my last review of Triton's we have continued to visit regularly but since our last visit the restaurant has changed hands, and name, it is now called Scotts. We ordered 2 seniors Haddock and chips and when they arrived we were immediately struck by the way the portions have been reduced. Previously we have been served a regular Haddock... More

Hello Robin, Thanks for the review, which is disappointing. I cannot agree with your comments and feel your review is inaccurate. Firstly the portion sizes have not changed. The fish is sold by it's wet weight, which is the same across the whole industry. The weight of fish you previously enjoyed is exactly the same weight as your last visit.... More

We live close to this Fish and Chip shop so visit regular. The fish and chips are always lovely. Not too greasy. There is sometimes a little wait, but they cook fresh to order which you cant really moan about. Portion size is always good. We ate in once and food was great, but the service was slow.

This has changed hands (20th August 2014) since last time I was here a few months ago and is now called "Scott's". The waitresses told us it has been purchased by people who own another restaurant so there will be changed but currently everything inside is still branded as Tritons. The menu was also the same BUT we found the... More

Hello and thanks for the review, Yes, we took over in July 2014 and we have another restaurant in Helmsley which has actually won a couple of awards for quality. We hope to take this one to that same level. We are gradually changing things, but keen to maintain the wide menu and general feel. The fish has been changed.... More

My second visit after a very good meal in December 2013. We were quickly seated and then seemingly forgotten. There were lots of staff flitting about the counter but not much going on by the tables. Eventually we waved our menus in the air to get some attention and managed to order. Menu is good with plenty of variety for... More

Hello Tim and thanks for the review, I think your assessment matched my assessment of the restaurant under the previous owners. It was ok, but could be a lot better. When making the decision to buy it, I felt we could do a lot better than the previous owners. We are now gradually working our way through things, improving quality,... More

We returned aging to this restaurant and once again enjoyed an excellent freshly cooked Fish and Chip meal served by friendly professional staff. Great atmosphere and spotlessly clean.
