Went early evening (6:30) on the basis of other reviews and was not disappointed. Only one other group eating at this early time. Excellent service and very tasty dishes off the fixed price menu which were good value. Easy to pass the entrance by as it's not very noticeable on the outside but good environment inside. will go again.

Great restaurant in York. They gave us a table for 2 at 9pm (last service). We had 2 dishes both plus a desert and a two glasses of wine for a total bill of aprox 75 pounds.

This is a lovely little place, Food was just perfect. Very, very friendly staff, looking after us so well. I had fillet steak cooked perfectly (so tender) and hubby loved the black pudding starter. Went for the two course menu so price for our dinner was great value. Good menu, Bottle of water and crusty bread & butter on table... More

The menu offers a decent selection of options without seeming overloaded or complicated. The staff managed to achieve a wonderful balance between professionalism and affability. The dining room is comfortably small without feeling cramped. Like the menu, the decor is simple and straightforward, which lent itself to the relaxing atmosphere. It is a shame when a restaurant feels the need... More

This is our favourite fine dinning restaurant in York My wife and I came here on Sunday for the set price menu We had 3 courses and came out full as the portion sizes are more than enough and the food is rich and flavoursome, without being over the top The food, service and ambiance as usual AMAZING As it... The two of us had a rump steak and a duck. Both dishes where very nice in flavour and the meat was really well prepared. The missing star is because the fries and sidedishes where prety fat.

We decided to try The Go Down as the reviews on TripAdvisor were all quite good. From the name of the restaurant we expected a trendy, modern place, however its just a bit boring and bland. The food was nice, and the service was good as it wasn't very busy - I just wanted something a bit different. If i'm... More
