Classy tea shop in a style long gone. You get what you pay for in life and the tea and espresso we had was lovely. Also stocked up from the shop down stairs.

Since I was a child I've never visited York without visiting Betty's. In those days the women would wear hats and gloves, the men ties. Now anything goes and in recent years, I had found it a bit expensive and to have lost a little of its special charm and quality. Not so yesterday as this smaller arm of the... More

Enjoyed our experience but it is a bit pricey. Lovely cakes if a bit on the small size and tea. Only a small wait when we arrived. Served quickly once in there.

Service and food first class but the place is very popular ....with queues out the door. We were eventually seated downstairs, which is OK but has no windows. I prefer Betty's in Harrogate and Ilkley but nearly always need to queue there too, so I advise that you go early.

Enjoyed the ambiance, food, and service at Betty's which met my expectations. Prices are a bit higher here than some other tea rooms but the elegance of the experience makes up for it. The drawback is that the place is popular so expect the possibility of standing in line to get a table.

Always wanted to go to a Bettys tearoom and finding this in the quaint streets of york we had to go in. The Tea was lovely fresh leaves and a lovely silver style set. The coffee was also impressive with a nice choice. The scones were delicious and the caramel slice apparently lovely but my son wouldn't share!! Being in... More

My husband and I split the Afternoon Tea as a snack before dinner. It was scrumptious. Our waitress was very nice and she shared with us information about the building and the other Bettys locations. We loaded up with some goodies from the downstairs bakery as we left. The macaroons were wonderful!

Because a coworker insisted we mustn't miss Betty's, we stopped in. We were there close to closing time, so we just grabbed a couple of things to take away. I bought an elderflower cake and a couple of tea cakes. My friend bought shortbread biscuits and cocoa. It was all good, but the marzipan tea cake was out of this... More

My wife and I had an afternoon cream tea here. The staff were very friendly & always smiling. The service was excellent, and the tea & scones very pleasant. We had to queue to get in, but certainly it was worth the(short) wait. I loved the old fashioned feel of the place, and although perhaps a little pricey, it is... More

Packed! Tried to stop in for afternoon tea without a reservation - no go. Came back for breakfast: fresh berries, poached eggs with asparagus, scone with clotted cream and black currant jam, and tea. Delicious, and worth the wait and cost. Fantastic teapot collection to peruse while you dine. Lived up to the hype.
