Nice tea and delicious food for a relaxing afternoon. Both the main one and the small one are very good.

Excellent service, excellent atmosphere, excellent tea and cakes. A bit pricey, but well worth it. So good we went back again the next day.

During my second night of my weeks visit to York I was looking around the various streets for somewhere to have a meal. I did not fancy any of the various bars that served food that night and had no intention of having my meal at any of the multi national food outlets as I wanted to give the local... More

Drinks and cakes nice but overpriced big time. Told to come back in 5 minutes but came back only to get a really crappy table. Tourist trap resting on its laurels me thinks.

We were sat in the window watching the world go by and were served by a lovely lady dressed for the part. Food and drink whilst expensive, were fabulous and setting is perfect.

We decided to skip the overpriced breakfast offered at our hotel, and strolled through the town to find a restaurant open for breakfast. Betty's opened at 9am, so we got there just as it opened. The whole dining experience was a delight--our immaculately dressed waitress provided classic "high tea" service. I chose the eggs Benedict and my husband a classic... More

We hoped to be there for lunch, but crowded rooms and a rather long line from the front door and down the street made us return a little later. Even then, we had to wait for a seat in this popular restaurant. Inside, we noticed the delicate furnishings, and nicely dressed, polite personal. When the food arrived, we understood the... More

If you're looking for a classic experience, look no further. Betty's afternoon tea, served in silver pots and on a three tier plate holder was exactly what I pictured! Great way to warm up on a cold afternoon. Highly recommend!
