Charming service and lovely afternoon tea.

A solo visit. It can be a bit uncomfortable, eating alone, but here it was lovely. Really good service, just the right amount of time to choose, and when asked for something not quite on the menu, no problem. Plenty of newspapers to read so you don't have to do that phone studying thing. Scones... read more

Booked in for the Lady Betty Afternoon Tea with champagne to celebrate partner's birthday. Food and service second to none. At the end of the dining the pianist struck up 'happy birthday' and our waitress brought him a cake with a candle. Lovely extra touch

We had a lovely coffee and scone and a Yorkshire fat rascal in Bettys at RHS Harlow Car. A great place to visit, and a wonderful morning coffee. Well recommended.

We had afternoon tea in the Belmont rooms. It is more expensive than in the shop but you don't have to queue and the experience is fantastic. Beautiful food and if you can't manage to eat everything you can have it boxed up to take home.

Went to Betty's one Sunday afternoon in May and to our surprise walked right in and were immediately shown to a nice table. A real trip back in time with elegant service, tea cups and food. It's a great place to people watch and if you have a window view seeing the folks walking down the street is quite fun.... More

This was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. We had booked in advance and so avoided the long queue and went straight upstairs to a beautiful room, with plenty of space between tables so it never seemed crowded, unlike the downstairs cafe. The service was impeccable and the food was delicious and filling. I really liked the way you were offered more... More

Having visited the Harrogate Betty's Tea Rooms on a previous trip to Yorkshire, we had to try the York establishment. It does not disappoint - very light fruit scones with plenty of fruity jam and thick cream, good real leaf tea with lemon or milk as preferred. The cakes looked fabulous but I was running out of clothes that fitted... More

Bite the bullet and wait in the queue it moves quite quickly and you must get a seat upstairs you wont get the same experience downstairs, part of the Bettys experience is people watching from inside the tearoom. The Swiss style macaroni is mmmmm so so tasty and you must have a Yorkshire fat rascal.

It was like stepping back in time Agatha Christie style, except for the prices! The fat rascal was a bit dry but I think that's how they are meant to be.

Sadly a long queue - looked lovely and suggest booking in advance. The.building was very impressive and peering into the window salivating! The tea and cakes looked traditional and yummy Next time.....
