The food was cooked to order and served with a smile by extremely busy young ladies, the restaurant area was clean and tidy, the tables cleared immediately after the departure of the diners, the queue was out the door but seated very quickly, and the food was of the highest quality, will be going back in December. more

We live near Whitby and have eaten here a couple of times, most recently today. This place is near the Magpie and a natural alternative when the queues for the Magpie look too long! It isn't in the same class, however. The choices are more limited and simple, but if you're just after decent fish and chips this isn't a... more

This really is the place to eat Cod & Chips. Cod fried in Beef dripping ... the flavour was out of this world and cooked to perfection. The cod flakes just fell apart and together with their in-house Tartar sauce the entire experience was an absolute delight. My mouth is watering just thinking about the meal we enjoyed there last... more

Food was very good but it was a very hot day and the restaurant was like an oven ... could do with some air con. However, service was fast and friendly and the bill was average. We would return. more

Ate here twice last weekend and really enjoyed the food on both occasions - can't see the point in queueing to get into a restaurant, no matter how good! more

22nd June 2009 Its the best Fish and Chips we've ever tasted, but felt we wished we hadn't asked the waitress for a) a highchair b) tartare sauce and c) food. A smile was probably too much like hard work for her as she had a face like a smacked Whitby cod for the duration of our visit. The restaurant... more

Everyone says you must have fish & chips while in Whitby but this is a big problem if you can't eat food that contains flour - no battered fish! But wait, great news for all coeliacs - the Quayside serve the most wonderful crispy gluten free battered fish!!! My husband had haddock, chips & mushy peas for the first time... more

top chips!
