This pub provided us with a lovely meal and friendly service. On the same evening they were hosting a very large party but it didn't impact on the service we received so well done to all staff!

We recently had a first visit to Glaisdale and called at the Arncliffe Arms after a walk. It was clean, and the staff were friendly. We sat on benches across the road where you can admire the scenery. We had a meal later that evening which was very nice, they have a menu and a specials board. We only had... More

We ate at the Arncliffe Arms when we were doing the Coast to Coast walk. It was a Thursday but there were only six other people in the pub, all diners, all walkers. The pub as a reasonable ambience. The staff are efficient but what makes this establishment is the chef. She really knows her stuff. I was sufficiently impressed... More

We ate here on the first night of our weekend stay in Glaisdale. We wanted a basic Tasty dinner, and thats what we got. The scampi was good, as were the chips. Hubby had gammon which was good, but he said lacked a bit of `greenery` (salad or veg would have completed the dish) The breakfast was tasty & freshly... More

... on the way to the museum of victorian science. Lovely pub, good beer and the food we saw going out to table looked very nice indeed.

We stayed here on the final day of our Coast to Coast and compared to where we had stayed before this was a huge disappointment. The room was poky and small, the shower door broken and the staff watched as we struggled to carry our bags upstairs having run over 30 miles that day and didn't even offer to help.... More

We ate here on our coast to coast walk and stayed the night. As a b and b it was perfectly fine but the food was excellent. I had pork in peppercorn cream sauce - wonderful, served with a huge selection of well cooked fresh vegetables by a friendly young waiter. Do try it.

Party of 5 was expecting a good evening meal after long days walk. Interior looked a bit tired but menu seemed ok. Were looking forward to a good steak and going by the price of this and the other meals had every expectation. The others had some chicken smothered in cheese and rather greasy chips. No steak knife was provided... More

Made to feel very welcome on arrival, not lots of choice for lunch time menu but what we had was very nice. Staff very pleasant. Would call again...

I stopped for a drink and lunch at the Arncliffe during June 2013 and was disappointed to find that my first 2 choices of beer were not available and the food was and I am sorry to say - awful. I had a sandwich with a side of chips. The chips were the worst ever - dripping in fat and... More
