On my first visit to Whitby, you can't visit seaside towns without having fish and chips. My friend and I stopped here as it looked very pleasant from the outside. The restaurant was next door to the takeaway fish and chip shop of the same name, next door. Inside was also very nice and welcoming, and after perusing the menu,... More

Called into the takeaway on the way back to our cottage as we decided we were to shattered to go out. Good call. There was plenty of choice and even though the food was cooked to order service was quick. We chose Scampi, Battered Sausage, Cod and Battered Haggis, all with chips and peas and all excellent. Will definitely visit... More

Went for an early tea and found the food nicely cooked and very tasty. Portions were a nice size. Medium cod and chips is very reasonably priced. Would definitely go again.

Nice fish and chips and veggie burgers and decent value. Enjoyed by all of us. The specials in particular are good value with fish, chips, tea and bread and butter priced at £7-£8 sit in.

My wife and I had mid afternoon sit down meals. I had the days special which was very good both in taste and value for money. My wife had scampi and chips that was also very good but expensive. The cola was flat. Look for the days special for the best deals as other meals are expensive.

Don't wait across the bridge at the bird related over hyped restaurant, go here instead! Lovely relaxed restaurant, portions that are quality rather than quantity but don't leave me hungry, friendly staff and not crammed in like sardines! Visited many times over last few years, not disappointed yet...

We visited this restaurant as 3 of our family are vegetarians, and dripping isn't used for frying.I had plaice and chips, and was very disappointed. The plaice seemed quite wet and the batter was soggy inside, always a sign that either the oil wasn't hot enough or the fish wasn't cooked long enough.my husband said the same about his haddock, but 2 of the vegetarians... been to Robertson's several times and have reviewed it before however on this occasion we felt a bit let down. The fish was as good as ever but the portions were a lot smaller and the prices have increased quite a bit since we were last in Whitby in springtime. Fish, chips, tea with bread & butter for 4 adults... More

A warm welcome, quickly served and gluten free no problem. They advertise the fact they are able to provide Gluten Free batter on their menu inside the window. The batter was lovely and crispy and very tasty, and it was a huge piece of fish (i couldn't manage it all). Chips were very tasty. Hubby enjoyed his fish and chips... More
