Description: A small, friendly, family run cafe, tucked away in a quiet courtyard, serving freshly ground Italian roast coffee in warm and welcoming surroundings. Food is freshly prepared to order (so please, allow extra time during busy periods) with half portions available for children. We serve an english breakfast from 9am until 11.30am with home made cakes and scones made fresh daily. Our savoury scones are a particular favourite. Although we are only a small cafe, we welcome prams/pushchairs and we do have a couple of high chairs and a baby changing unit. If you have any special dietary requirements, please ask. IF WE CAN DO IT-WE WILL!

I love this little cafe. It is always busy with chatter and friendliness . Coffee is great with usual two shots and the food is good value and portions great. You can sit and read the paper and listen to the world come and go. A lovely place for a relaxed lunch. Seats outside in summer and off the main... More

We popped in here on 29th October. Scrambled eggs and bacon on toast, scrambled eggs & beans on toast and a bacon bap were ordered. The service was good and the quality and quantity of the food was excellent. The scrambled eggs were cooked perfectly. There was a nice display of home made cakes and scones on the counter. If... What a delight to find such a gem of a coffee shop hidden away in Whitby. I spotted the 'A' board down by the harbour and had a good feeling about it - had to walk past several other coffee venues to get to it - but totally worth it. The home made cake I had was excellent. Run by... More

Whitby is famous for its fish and chip restaurants but if you need a change for a light lunch then seek out this little hideaway. This small cafe was full when we entered so we sat on stools at the counter to wait for a free table. During his time we were entertained by friendly banter with the owner. When... More

It was like the original soup my grandmother made many years ago..so healthy full of taste. The cost was excellant. Its a gem of a place with brillian servise from the staff. We will call again on our return trip.Well... More

Piping hot coffee with hot milk in a little jug so you can add your own. Friendly and pleasant staff and a very colourful decor made our elevenses very enjoyable. Situated off Flowergate and not easy to find but well worth it when you do.

This cafe has very good word of mouth, so I had high expectations. I went just after the conventional lunch hour - about 2.30pm on a Thursday - and ordered a ham and brie panini (factoid: "panino" is the correct singular, but I'm sure you don't care) and a small cafe latte. The panini(o) was barely heated through. Although the... More

We stopped at Sahara for lunch and were delighted to find this small and welcoming cafe hidden away in a courtyard just off one of Whitby's main streets. We had a sandwich and a salad, both of which were generously sized and very tasty, with a choice of dressings and a variety of different fillings/toppings. The owner and her son... More
