When we were looking for somewhere for lunch just before returning home from our stay in Whitby, we were really hoping we'd find a little gem that would be a perfect end to a lovely weekend. That's exactly what we found! The cafe is cute and cosy, the staff really friendly and efficient and the food to die for. We... More

Visited Bramblewick in Robin Hoods Bay and had a stale scone topped off with synthetic cream, a truly miserable offering. Not wishing to spoil the morning with such a poor experience, visited the tried and tested Marie Antoinettes in Whitby and as usual the Coffee and Cake were very good.

We chanced by here on a cold and wet Monday afternoon in early January 2016, because it was near the foot of the steps up to the abbey, and because it was open. The drinks, the sandwiches, and the cakes were all excellent and reasonably priced, and the staff were friendly and efficient. We went back on Tuesday as well!... More

Lovely coffee, very friendly staff and made an effort above and beyond what was required. We sat outside with our two (wet) dogs and the waitress, after she had brought our coffees, came back out to give the dogs a little treat too. Nice little touch which means we'd definitely return 👍

A dream of a cafe near to the abbey. The kind of cafe found in the York shambles. Serves fresh made cakes and big scones. Quaint little rooms .

First visit, won't be the last :) Lovely quaint setting, friendly staff, great value for money, but essentially ... HOT Coffee ... lovely large hot lattes :) and the LEMON MERINGUE ... A M A Z I N G. THE BEST :) The best we've ever had, and it's a family favourite so we've eaten many. All the cakes look... More

This was a welcome refuge for us. The scones were delicious and the decoration was charming. Not expensive, and it transports to an enchanting era of genteel tea drinking.

A very friendly cafe. We visited for lunch on a busy Sunday after Christmas. Despite them being very busy we managed to squeeze onto a table upstairs. Delicious sandwiches, with salad and crisps. We managed to leave enough room for the most delicious warm scones and decadent chocolate cake.
