Came here with my Mum for an afternoon treat, great variety of cakes and not overly expensive given the quality of the cakes. We sat downstairs where there is not much space at all (and people seem to be oblivious to the fact that they don't shut the door behind them!) I looked about upstairs when visiting the loo and... Saw this on Trip Advisor and on peeking inside, decided to give it a go. Just a couple of tables downstairs, you really had to go up a very steep staircase to the rooms upstairs, a bit difficult if you have knee problems! We had 3 coffees and a hot chocolate, which came with mini marshmallows, a huge scone and... More

This is charmingly decorated with a real french/vintage feel. My wife had a very moist scone and tthe coffee was good. I had a sandwich for lunch of cheese and pickle which rather unimaginative , basically a baguette overfilled with a rather tasteless cheddar. I'd definitely go back for the surroundings and a coffe and cake.

I have been here several times, and I absolutely love it. It has become a real staple of our visits to Whitby. Lovely, quaint teashop. Very cosy with a sweet vintage feel. Fantastic range of delicious cakes (really recommend the carrot cake and chocolate fudge) and comforting teas/hot drinks. The atmosphere is lovely here, me and my fiance could sit... More

We stopped here for a pot of tea and some scones to tide us over until lunch time - this place is quite small, owing to the size of the buildings, but there is seating upstairs too - the front room features a wood-burning stove to keep the cold at bay, and the room to the rear is decorated with... You will not find better hot chocolate anywhere for a start! The cakes are beautiful and full of flavour, fabulous service too. There was only one lady working the day we visited but her service was perfect, welcoming, helpful you name it. The big chains could learn a lot from visiting this place. CHECK THIS PLACE OUT!

Visited here for a spot of lunch having been tempted in by the delicious looking cakes! I ordered a cheese baguette and my sister ordered the tuna baguette. We order tea which was lovely! The baguette however were not. Somehow my cheese baguette had managed to come into contat with the tuna, upon mentioning this to the waitress she laughed... More

Not a lot in the way of breakfast items here, fruit scone of cake at the time of our last visit, but there is really good coffee in a quirky set of rooms which provide respite from the cold in winter, and from the madding crowds in summer. Always a friendly welcome, and newspapers provided for customers. A strange little... More
