We arrived first thing mid morning & as I was with my Black Lab, son and Hubby wasn't sure if we could fit.. The lady serving was lovely and said we could happily be seated downstairs with our dog. Ordering two Latte's a scone and a slice of toffee and cream pie.. the scone was still warm and a towering... More

The staff were very friendly and helpful and the coffee and patisserie were a good standard and reasonably priced. The place was clean and charming- a good place to go. I would go again.

Particularly unpleasant yesterday when myself my partner and 3 grandchildren visited. We were sitting outside when a customer asked to take a seat, which was unreasonable as we were using it, seconds later one of the counter staff appeared demanding to take the seat inside claiming it was an inside chair (although taken it out & left by a previous... This place had been recommended to us and after a long walk the place seemed very inviting. However , once inside the lack of friendliness/customer service stood out by a mile. Across the street is Sanders Yard cafe selling similar but with a much friendlier staff.

Fell over this teeny tiny place whilst desperately looking for somewhere more than "nice" for a cuppa and something to eat on the Abbey side of the Esk. It was the contents of the window which drew my eye: real, home made looking cakes under glass domes. just room enough for us left on the ground floor. A sandwich each... More

In our first visit to the "old quarter" of Whitby,we stumbled across the patisserie by just browsing in windows as we walked by, and that's when I spotted CAKE and lots of it! The place looked full when we went in,although the young lady behind the counter said she would see if seats were available upstairs, which I thought was... More

Lovely little place we had the scone with jam and cream and chocolate fudge brownie cheese cake. The scone was fresh and probably the best I've ever tasted. We were recommend to go here by a couple of people and I can see why. Definitely worth a visit

after walking down the 199 steps a lovely cheese scone & latte was well welcomed!!!! Very nice... Staff a bit abrupt but think this is all shops as seem to find all shops a bit like that.

On our way to climb the 199 steps to Whitby Abbey on a "cool, squally, windy day" - [Sept 21st,] and my senses were aroused by the smell of aromatic coffee, - sadly there were only 2 places available - and we were 3, but decided to call on the way back. Forty minutes later - there was enough space for... More

We stumbled on this lovely place whilst wandering around the old cobbled streets. Ordered pots of tea and cake obviously, but wished I had ordered lemon meringue pie once I had walked past chiller to nip to the toilet and caught sight of it. Tea tasted fabulous and stayed piping hot for 3rd cup. Delicious cake and loads of choice.... More
