We went to Whitby August 24th. Whitby was very busy and everywhere there were queues for every fish and chip restaurant. We went about 15.45 and found Gatsby's. There was just one table emptyso luckily we grabbed it. The fish and chips were absolutely beautiful.Highly reccommend them here and the staff were so nice. The fish is cooked to order... More

So during our week long stay in Whitby we popped in here, from the outside it looked ok. First of all the service was slow to be honest, they weren't exactly busy but it felt a long time getting served. The better half and our girls had panninis - one was ok (ham and cheese) the tuna one was a... More

My wife and I visited mid-morning. Enjoyed an excellent pot of tea and toasted tea cakes. Prompt service. All staff helpful and polite. Would like to visit again to try a more substantial meal.

Batter was a bit soft at the bottom but hey it's cooked in oil what do ya expect. Nice pot of tea... More

I was unfortunate enough to order lunch here a couple of weeks ago. Pie, garden peas and chips. The peas were cold and whoever had sloshed them onto the plate had failed to drain them so the pie pastry was wringing wet. The meat in the pie was grey and glutinous. Altogether a very nasy experience and will never return.... More

We visited Whitby on this weekend and rather than go to a pub thought it would be nice to eat with a harbour view. How I wished we had walked right past. On the menu was 'homemade steak pie with a puff pastry' NO!! It was a few bits of tasteless meat in the toughest pastry you could imagine. 'Served... More

This is one of the worst meals we have ever had. We order 2 courses and we had to wait 45 mins for our first course to arrive. The place is a bit of a shambles. One of the chefs constantly was running up and down the stairs beside us which was really annoying. Other people had already left and... More
