This is a brilliant little restaurant. It can handle around 40 covers at a time, and is cosy to say the least due to it being in a building that is approaching 1000 years old, but everything else makes up for it! The food is excellent, home made pies, with a good variety of fillings - I had the Haggis... More

We called in for lunch after reading all the good reviews and we were not dissapointed. We both had the Steak and Stout pie and it was fantastic, packed with meat and flavour. The service was good and the price was excellent value. We will definitely eat here again.

Friendly staff, good atmosphere, vintage/nostalgic music and the food was brilliant. Fantastic value for money.

Arrived just after 12 to find the cafe almost full, but pleased to be seated upstairs (previous visit sat downstairs) The food was served quickly - excellent mash with gravy, peas, and (of course) the beautiful home made pies. I had Chicken & Cider, and my friends had Corned Beef & Potato and Mince & Onion. All were delicious, with... More

We visited on a busy afternoon on 31st October. We were served straight away and had mince & onion, Steak & stout and corned beef & onion pies. All 3 were excellent quality and the pastry was lovely. The mash was great. Yes it had some lumps in it but to me that just goes to show its made from... More

Lucky to squeeze in to the cafe for the last table available, but order taken and food served really quickly. Best pie I've ever eaten outside home, I think. We both had steak and stout - packed with tender tasty meat, proper mash and peas on the side and loads of gravy. Wish we'd had room for the jam roly... More

My husband & I have visited Humble Pie & Mash on a number of occasions and we were there on 31st October. We were served within 5 minutes of our order being taken and the food was beautiful, as always. I had Steak & Stout pie & hubby had the Chicken pie. Despite being stuffed, hubby then went on to... After we had finished our drinks at a super nearby pub, we walked to humble pie n mash and it looked full but we were expecting to be friendly greeted and told we'd have to wait a... More
