We are a small unlicensed eatery, serving just pie mash peas and gravy. We welcome dogs and their owners but have a dog free area upstairs. We don't have any Alcohol, but you are more than welcome to bring your own or pop over the road to the Endeavour pub who will let you bring a nice cold pint back to your food.If we do something wrong or make a mistake, please let us know or contact me through the messaging service and i will put it right.I believe you should be able to have a filling quality meal for a decent price.

A change from chips!

Had had our fill of chips, and my partner LOVES pie and mash, so was really excited to discover this place, which is totally devoted to pies and mash, with proper shortcrust pastry! We went here after reading trip advisor reviews at 7pm with 3 weary, hungry kids- all stressed out by a bank holiday Whitby (cold, busy, noisy) and arrived at the cutest, friendliest little bolt hole! Kind & fun-loving staff couldn't have been more helpful- really nice meal enjoyed by a) a teenage boy b) a Yorkshire Dad C) a fussy... More

We stumbled across Humble Pie & Mash and I'm glad we did. We were looking for something filling that wasn't fish and chips. This was the perfect alternative and very well priced. Next time we go back to Whitby, this will be on the top of the list to visit.

We ate here on Sunday lunchtime as a party of 4 adults and 4 children - we had a selection of pies plus sausage & mash for 2 of the kids, everyone loved it. Mash was delicious, gravy and peas were too. Although we were a bit awkward with some wanting peas no mash, some wanting no gravy etc, everything... More

Been here many times and like to try a different pie every time. We have never been disappointed. Very good. Homemade mushy peas would be a welcome option to the garden peas.

Fantastic little restaurant been twice dined in the first time great food and service. Second time got a carry out and had at my self catering accommodation with a bottle of wine a great meal without having to cook. I shall return when next in Whitby. Simple nostalgic food beautifully prepared

Great little cafe with friendly staff and proper pies, mash and gravy. Good selection of pies types, mash that speaks for itself and even the odd school dinners style pudding such as jam roly poly. Had a late lunch one day and enjoyed so much that got a takeaway pie to take home for supper on our last night in... More

The food in this café is not humble at all it is awesome, but you have to be a lover of pies and also pre-war furnishings.

About 8 different sort of pies, all served with peas, mash and gravy, all cost £6.99. Mugs of tea and coffee. Restaurant decked out as a post war cafe. Really lovely comfort food. Staff were lovely too. Thank you.
