We don't have any Alcohol, but you are more than welcome to bring your own or pop over the road to the Endeavour pub who will let you bring a nice cold pint back to your food.If we do something wrong or make a mistake, please let us know or contact me through the messaging service and i will put it right.I believe you should be able to have a filling quality meal for a decent price.

if you enjoy lovely pies and mash and home made puddings, in a welcoming and friendly environment, then this is a bloody must, dogs are very welcome and the open fire in the evenings just make it cosy, tho it wasn't on when we went!! ps, don't forget to splash loads of Hendersons relish on please! x

Came here on 20.10.14 for lunch with our boxer dog. To find somewhere dog friendly that serves food is fantastic! Buster was very welcome by the people working there but did get a couple of looks from the people eating (sign on the door states that dogs are welcome downstairs and upstairs is dog free, if this is still a... Basic comfort food, all made on the premises, very good value for money. My only comment is the 1230 opening time, which is 30 mins later than any other establishment in the area, which probably looses them business.

Visited Whitby for a week & wanted to eat somewhere a bit different. Had done the fish restaurants so thought we'd give this one a try. Went there twice & it was packed so couldn't get in. On the third occasion went early & got a table. We were not disappointed, I had Steak & ale pie, my girlfriend chicken... More

Basic, but delicious pie, mash and peas with a drink. Prompt service and beautifully cooked pies, what more could you ask for on a cold day.

Where do you start with the humble pie and mash. well it is well worth its number 4 rating. The humble pie and mash is a small unique place in my humble eyes. It has a 40s / 50s feel to it that adds to the whole quaint feeling to the building. It only seats about 20 to 24 people... More

We went twice to Humble Pie 'n' Mash while we were on holiday in Whitby. I can highly recommend the Steak and Stout pie and the Chicken and Cider. It is a really quaint little place and does what it says on the tin, we liked the simple concept and quick service and would recommend this for a good lunch.

Went twice this week. 1st visit jam rolypoly on but no custard. Favourite lamb pie off. 2nd visit; custard on, rolypoly off. Pie ordered without but delivered with mash. Both times nonstop Frank Sinatra droning far too loud. But still 5 stars. Food superb value. Rationing era well evoked by key menu items missing. Great British service. Unnecessarily loud music... Yes our attention to detail often goes unnoticed! All those things were intentional to add to the experience and nothing to do with us being crap. Thanks for the review and also for the great rationing excuse i shall now use when we burn something and take it off the menu. I know which night your talking about as we... More

I went with my partner and we both said it was the best meal we had on our holiday. Great pies and the owner was lovely.

Fabulous pies honestly - for vegetarians and meat eaters alike and a lovely friendly atmosphere. I never get tired of eating here. The puddings are alsxo great - just don't try to do too much after a meal here - you're better just heading home and putting your feet up by the fire. Recommended and very good value.
