Four of us each had a different pie from the good range on offer. All were with mash & gravy and the enamel dishes were scraped clean. Honest, unpretentious stick to you ribs fare! Will visit again.

Took the family on the recommendation of the visitors book in our holiday apartment, really enjoyed the steak pie gave the mash a miss so I could have the jam roly poly as it's one of my favorites but it still floored me. Generous Portions, great food and interesting surroundings will be back to try the lamb pie as I... More

Nice place, lovely pies, generous portions! I had the minced beef and onion, husband had the haggis and neeps. Both delicious, and a nice change from all the fish, chips and icecream! Cannot believe how cheap it is, i want to go back and try the chicken and cider pie next. We didn't have enough room left for a pud... More

I visited with my family & we all ate here. We were seated at a table upstairs following a very warm welcome by staff. Our table was quite private & the atmosphere & surroundings were great! We all loved the 1940's theme. The pies we're great. Mum had the vegetarian, I had the steak & hubby had the corned beef.... More

My other half spotted this eatery on our first day. So I looked on trip advisor and just reading the response's to the negative comments was enough to make me want to come as it was nice to see such down to earth comments. And it was fabulous yes it wasn't the poshest of surroundings but it added to the... More

I cannot believe it has been 4 years since I wrote the very first review of this pie shop and now 1165 reviews down the line, I have nothing more to add to those other reviewer's comments other than I have finally completed my journey to explore every pie on the menu. As hard as this quest has been, I... More

We have visited here on a number of occasions but not for at least a year or so in which I think the price might have gone up a little. While the rest of Whitby was up and at it early as many of the hundreds of summer seaside visitors are sitting to eat from 11.30ish - the Humble Pie... More

We went here on a Friday evening and it was busy. The pies are all freshly made and are very tasty. All meals were £6.99 and for that you got pie, mash, garden peas and gravy. The only problem I had after eating there was the fact that I was so full I couldn't drink any beer and we had... More
