Loved the food - I had the chicken pie - wonderful, my partner had the haggis pie - very nice, and original. We were quite squashed in, downstairs, but there is apparently an upstairs part which we didn't go in. Worth a visit.

Whilst staying in the area, thought we'd try something different other than fish and chips (plus couldn't find a sit-down chippy that would accept dogs) and came across this place. What a find, service excellent (occasionally abrupt with certain customers seeking a table, think that was down to the pressure of it being so busy), even though there was four... More

Real mash! Pie and pies and a well made cuppa. A selection of tasty pies, such as mince and onion, cheddar n onion, steak and stout and I had the rosemary and lamb. Mouth watering as I write. Good fast service. Seating upstairs too. Good value for money at £6.97 ? I think a dish. Do take out too.

Nice little restaurant in Whitby serving multiple variety of pies and mash. Good quality and portions, and excellent value at under £7 for a meal. A great alternative to fish and chips.

We visited this cafe after reading good reviews. At first we thought it was full as the downstairs area is tiny then found out there is plenty of seating upstairs. The layout of the old house has been left almost intact, with the upstairs divided into rooms and old quirky objects all over the place - very interesting, adds to... More

Brilliant food. Large choice of pies. As a vegetarian this restaurant was great - 2 veggie pies. Nostalgic atmosphere. Pie meals only 6.99. Jam roly poly for pudding.

It was cold and windy in Whitby and we really needed a place to eat something and relax. Humble Pie 'n' Mash, which we found by chance, was the perfect place for our needs. This restaurant is rather small (only 5-6 tables) and its menu is very simple: Pies (of different kinds) and Mash. It was like eating at home,... More
