Charm in a tea cup.

First things first!!! The charm of this coffee shop starts from outside. If you love anything with a vintage, quirky twist then this is the place to spend your time in Whitby. We visited twice while in Whitby and both visits were perfect. The scones are homemade and are to die for. We also had tuna... read more

Sherlocks is located just off the main thoroughfare and on the left up a rather steep hill. Decor is in keeping with the Sherlock period. Layout is quirky with more places to sit in than you think. Food is of the usual offering. Sandwiches, toasties, cakes & tea/coffee. I've only ever had coffee & scones though. Scones are tasty, of... More

Totally quirky little cafe. All done out like a Victorian palour with a Dr Watsons section upstairs. They had a choice of three gluten free cheese cakes and I had the strawberry & rhubarb so lovely. A really nice and original little cafe to visit. Would really recommend.

Arranged over three floors, tip ..do explore upstairs. We ordered a stottie essentially a toastie, coffee and a cake and it was really quite nice. The place is quirky and unique and we enjoyed the experience. The woman you see when you walk in is working flat out so maybe you dont get a big smile but thats the reason.... More

I totally love the atmosphere in here, although each time I've been I've had to sit upstairs because it's so busy but it's just as lovely up there too so that's ok! Friendly staff, tasty (Baytown) coffee and a yummy cream tea! Would certainly recommend.

Lovely old building, lots of character, quirky decor, lots of nooks and crannies to seek out on two floors. Service was good with lovely friendly staff, very reasonably priced, delicious food and an excellent cup of coffee with double cream. Well worth a visit.

Visited with friends today and was very pleasantly surprised. The decor is wonderfully eccentric and in keeping with their Sherlock Holmes theme. I felt like we were transported back in time! The food was standard fare, sandwiches, toasties etc, the star attraction are the cakes; just glorious!! Lovely place, yes the staff are a little brusque but everything else makes up... More

Visited recently with my friend. Not a very warm welcome by the lady behind the counter. Table we moved to sit down was rammed back into place and the member of staff stating she had just cleaned there. Ignored by the same lady. Didn't stay for a drink as planned and won't be recommending to anyone else

we found Sherlocks by chance and im so glad we did, the place is full of charm and character. The scrummy cakes and bargain prices are a bonus in my eyes. I spent more time in ore then eating my cake! upstairs is by far the best place to sit, but be willing to wait! Its worth it i promise!.
