Definitely worth a visit, nice coffee, cakes etc.. Lovely ambience. It can get rather busy, but that's a good sign !

Visited here and thoroughly enjoyed. Husband had cake and I had an ice cream sundae. Both were generous in portions and really tasty. Staff were friendly and the service was efficient. Had to change my little boys nappy on the floor of the upstairs Resturant was only downside but not unusual for Whitby which is full of old buildings and... More

Certainly not what you would expect. This coffee shop extends out into the back. Dogs are allowed which is always a bonus. Downstairs there are little booths and cute artefacts. Cake was excellent and all very reasonably priced. Would certainly recommend.

Stopped for a cup of tea in Sherlocks and almost immediately wished we hadn't. The place was still packed with the remnants of the lunchtime crowd, which made finding a table a bit of a scramble. The decor was charming, but soulless. There was no immediate information on the walls about Sherlock and only a brief nod to his existence... More

We try and visit Sherlock's every time we are in Whitby as it is one of the best places to get a nice cup of tea/coffee. The cakes are fabulous. Huge slices of Lemon Drizzle, Coffee & Walnut, Chocolate Fudge etc etc. The scones are fantastic. To top it all they go out of their way to accommodate our 2... More

We were intrigued by the cosy atmosphere of this place when walking past and decided to go back another day of our stay. We weren't disappointed, it was a great place to stop for an afternoon tea and coffee with pavlova for my partner and lemon meringue for me. The pavlova was stunning with fresh fruit and berry coulis, I... More
