We found this place purely by accident on a quick visit to Whitby. We wanted a coffee and a quiet break from the surging mob that Whitby draws unto itself. You might miss it because it is upstairs but worth the search. A real oasis of calm with a modern touch - losts of good quality art (paintings, sculpture and... More

Finally we have found a place in Whitby that serves excellent coffee! We have tried just about everywhere and this is the best. Others are watery, bitter or tasteless. The owners are really lovely and welcoming and the surroundings (an art and craft gallery) are relaxing and inspirational.

Called in for a coffee & found the place very relaxing with beautiful art on display & magazines to read. Lovely cakes & comfy leather settees . Very impressed & was so different & special to the ordinary cafes around. Will return

Stopped off just before closing but happy to serve, had home made cakes and coffee. They started to close but told us to stay where we were not a problem. Homeade cakes were gorgeous Coffe and carrot cake very fattening but lovely.

Called in for a light lunch so had one of the homemade soups. Delicious soup, well flavoured. Nice surrounding situated inside the gallery. Pleasant staff.

Visited May Bank holiday (saturday). Must confess that part of the reason we went is that it is one of the only cafe's in Whitby that offer Wifi! But Im very glad we did. We had a drink each but my other half got tempted by the cakes (which are very reasonably priced). He plumped for a Cheese scone in... More

A calming atmosphere in a crowded area. Light jazz background music with an art gallery on the upper floor - the prints and glass exhibits were worth looking at but unfortunately a shade on the expensive side. However, the proprietors were extremely helpful, courteous and welcoming. The food was excellent with a delicious and substantial sweet potato soup and ham... More

We went here on Easter Saturday , it was hard to spot that there was a cafe upstairs as only a very small sign in the window advertising the fact. You have to climb a lot of stairs to reach the top, so not disabled friendly or if you had a push chair, but well worth the climb. The food is... More
