We popped in for a drink but couldn't resist a cake from the cabinet! It is a really relaxed open plan atmosphere. The art work is great too. We all enjoyed our short stop there and thought it was reasonably priced. Very friendly staff.

Really nice soup (have had it twice now!) and houmous sandwich make this a little oasis for vegans in Whitby. Soya lattes are great - all that is needed now is a vegan cake! The owners are really helpful and happy. We will definitely be back!

It's a shame I can't afford any of the gorgeous art in this cosy little art gallery/cafe because I can spend hours perusing the beautiful pieces. I do own three of the necklaces and two silk scarves now though. Also, as usual my soup was lovely, my partner's bagel looked pretty tasty and the service was friendly and smiley and... More

Visited this often overlooked cafe whilst looking for art. The food range is limited but excellent. Everything is home made, affordable and served in seconds. The staff really went the extra mile and felt like a team.

Looked intriguing from the outside, art work good but little atmosphere in the cafe section. Plus lots of steps to negotiate.

Called in late for a drink after a long walk on the Cleveland Way. No scones left as a but late but opted for cakes and hot chocolate. Hot chocolate was great, being served with marshmallows. Very hot and very tasty. Hubby not a lover of marshmallows so was given a biscuit instead - a nice touch. We chose from... More

So calm and relaxing above the bustle of the street. The Art Cafe is somewhere I return to time and time again. Lovely owners, fabulous artwork and really tasty food. The peanut butter and apple sandwich sounds curious but tastes magnificent. Free wifi and a laid back atmosphere The Art Cafe is a must if you want to get away... More

We visited twice during our week long stay and would have liked to visit a third time. The soups are very good and together with the bread are very filling. The cakes are delicious, particularly the fruit cake which we rated as the best we'd had in a long time. We were very pleased that we found this cafe and... More
