I go to Whitby at least once a year and my favourite place to eat is Hadley's. The restaurant has expanded its seating capacity since I first started going. but the quality is as good. they have specials which include the fish and chips, bread and butter and tea. or you can chose from the menu. Children's portions and large.... More

Great fish and chips in Whitby! I ordered the small cod and chips which was beautifully cooked and a good sized portion. However, my husband's haddock still had a the skin on (which he doesn't like!). Staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient. You can also get a locally brewed real ale to go with your meal! Wouldn't hesitate to... More

My father chose to visit Whitby for his birthday lunch, he was 85. The staff all wished him happy birthday when they knew, we had a lovely lunch, the fish so fresh and ample portion sizes. Superb value for money. We will be back and it a brilliant start to a wonderful birthday for my father. Thank you so much.

we found this place by accident after wandering over the swing bridge in Whitby. the fish and chips were delicious, and I liked the fact that there was a choice of size of fish. suits me as the small were just enough for me and my daughters while my husband enjoyed the medium, which was massive, so goodness knows what... Called here for lunch last week. The staff were helpful and the plate of fish, chips and mushy peas was divine. We had the medium haddock, and the batter was lovely and crispy. When you have proper fish & chips like this it makes you realise just how awful some of the chippies back home really are. No soggy stuff... More

Whitby has more Fish & Chip Restaurants than Car Parks!! We chose Hadleys since it was well frequented, well placed and it was rated "best in Whitby" 2014. We were not disappointed. Plaice and Lemon Sole were first class. Not the cheapest but one of the best.

My family and I ate at Hadleys on a busy Sunday in July, the service was quick and the food was spot on. I'd easily say that the fish at Hadleys is the best I've ever eaten. Will definitely be returning next time we're in Whitby!

Forget the rest this is the only place for great fish and chips, or other seafood dishes, all cooked to perfection and served with yorkshire hospitality. It is a lovely venue, beatifully decorated with a lovely newly installed curving staircase.
