Fish beautiful and cooked to perfection

I would have given 5 stars if the accompaniments marched up to the main course. Tomato sauce asked for by my friend was awful as was the tartar sauce asked for by me. Served in little dishes, which is fine but it does hide the brand. If you have a good main product which is ruined by penny pinching... read more

Whenever we visit Whitby we always get drawn back to Hadleys because of their consistant quality and great staff. There are loads of good fish & chip restaurants with lines of people waiting for seats but this is the one to go to. The price is right and the fish & chips perfect.DO TRY THEM !!

Had 3 adult cod/haddock and chips and 3 children's versions, too. As one might expect, the fish was battered to perfection and very tasty (in beef dripping, I think the menu said). The portion of chips looked on the slightly small side (given it was a large portion) but I think the whale of a fish more than compensated! The... More

The food was okay, fish was massive. Service was great but fish was not drained so plate was swimming in oil which made fish soggy on the bottom and the chips. But over all an okay place.

A day trip to Whitby and with so many fish and chip shops to choose from, we decided to call here. First time I've ever had to queue outside a fish restaurant before being shown in to a seat. It was that busy, there was always a queue. We were greeted by nice and friendly staff, despite being rushed off... More

Without a doubt the best value fish and chip restaurant in Whitby. Complete with mushy peas, brown bread and a pot of tea. What more?

we always visit this restaurant when we're in Whitby and it never disappoints. This visit was the first for a while where we didn't have to queue outside first. The service was good, quick and efficient and there are some good offers available on the food and plenty of choices aside from fish and chips!

After reading favourable reviews on trip advisor we decided to pay a visit to Hadleys fish and chip restaurant. It was a very cold February day in Whitby and to be honest the restaurant inside wasn't much warmer. We ordered the special of small cod and chips with bread and butter and a pot of tea, the food arrived quickly... More
