Great set menu, slightly 'greasy spoon' but its a chippy! Lovely fish and great chips. Be warned if you have mobility issues, toilets are up very windy stairs and I had to help one elderly lady who was struggling to get up them

We had to queue, but didn't have to wait long as the queue moved quickly. The cod and chips were hot, fresh and the batter crisp and not at all greasy. Table sauces were provided in clean containers, and service was good too. Even toilet was clean! Overall price including drinks was not cheap, but was nonetheless good value.

I had cod and salad and it was a great plate of food. The fish was fried to perfection in a light coating, crispy and hot, with fresh flaky fish inside. Proper small cod too, not the great frozen slabs you sometimes get. Nice plate of salad, and a lovely gherkin. Proper grub. Only the coffee was a let-down, I... More

The fish and chips were fresh and tasty within a nice friendly atmosphere. The food was piping hot and brought to the table promptly from ordering. Pricing was reasonable comparative to other restaurants of the same calibre.

Sticking my neck out here as all the fish and chip restaurants we tried were excellent including the award winning Quayside. However we really did think this was the best. The large haddock and chips was delicious so much so we returned another night to repeat this gourmet experience. There is also less hustle and bustle than The Quayside and... More

I had read reviews and discovered for myself on two occasions both yesterday and today how delicious the fish really was, slid off the batter smoothly succulent flavour. chips cooked golden and the mushy peas just right. Staff very efficient and quick, friendly and clean. I highly recommend to you all visiting Whitby, you will be spoilt for choice with... More

Really excellent fish and chips - better even than Trenchers (our usual Whitby haunt, and also recommended) and much better than the overrated Magpie CafΓ©. The restaurant doesn't pretend to be anything other than a cafΓ© eating area attached to the fish and chip shop, and it's hardly the place for a romantic dinner a deux...but the fish and chips...
