Freshly cooked to order delicious fish in excellent batter with great chips. Tea was great as well. This is one of the best sit down Fish and Chip meals we have had on the East Coast.

We often visit Whitby and normally go to the Magpie (which is great) and Hadley's is just as good! If anything probably a better overall place due to the value for money. Would definitely recommend this place. Give it go!

So many options for the obligatory fish & chips in Whitby & always the fear you'll pay through the nose for something average or disappointing. Happily we found Hadley's just off lovely old Church Street. This is simple dining but with pleasant surroundings, polite, friendly staff, prompt service & of course delicious fish & chips. There is a good deal... More

Great set menu, slightly 'greasy spoon' but its a chippy! Lovely fish and great chips. Be warned if you have mobility issues, toilets are up very windy stairs and I had to help one elderly lady who was struggling to get up them

We had to queue, but didn't have to wait long as the queue moved quickly. The cod and chips were hot, fresh and the batter crisp and not at all greasy. Table sauces were provided in clean containers, and service was good too. Even toilet was clean! Overall price including drinks was not cheap, but was nonetheless good value.
