Beautiful fish. Really crispy batter. We all had the meal deal. The medium was plenty big enough. The service was very friendly and efficient. Would recommend it.

After spending a lovely day and night in York we called at Whitby for some food on the way home. Got to Hadleys and were seated pretty quickly and in a friendly manner. I was desperate for fishcake and chips but was disappointed with what i got, a thin scabby fishcake in breadcrumbs- deep fried. A member of staff did... More

Had lunch at Hadleys in Whitby, just over the bridge into old town on the right. Cant fault it - really light and fluffy batter on the white fish - Excellent

This will be the 2nd or 3rd visit to Hadley's over the past 10 years and it is good to see how it has developed without losing the primary focus - good fish and chips. We visited on a lunch time and only had the "small" cod and chips and although they were a bit small they were sufficient, well... More

Lovely staff, fresh hot tasty chips, HUGE pot of tea, crunchy batter, tasty fish, mushy mushy peas (perfect) and bread to slurp it all down with. Nice a cool inside too. Defo go again x x x

It is easy for me to recommend this establishment. The food is prepared while you wait ( tho the wait is not long & very well worth it!) The food is excellent quality and the staff are always polite & accommodating despite the large number of customers they are attending to. I would rate this restaurant as one of the... More

Worth a visit if you do not want to pay extortionate prices at the Magpie or Quayside but you do want to have delicious food. The portion of chips were not massive (I had a medium),but they were delicious and the fish was delicious.

We make this a regular stop on an annual motorcycle tour. Make sure you go early - they close at 2000 - because you'll get some of the finest fish and chips you've ever tasted. Servings are generous - the 'large' really is a challenge to finish, even for my generous appetite - and every mouthful is a delight. The... More

Visited here in May after a recommendation to try over other establishments in Whitby and so glad we did! Excellent fish and chips and brilliant value for money. Would definitely go again when in Whitby!
