Had a great lunch with my wife and grandson. Haddock, chips and peas with an apple pie and custard for desert. All good portions and very very tasty. The staff as always very professional, polite and attentive. Well worth a visit, as the views looking out to sea are not bad either A great value for money

the fish was a bit watery - surely they don't use frozen fish at the seaside? Have had take away from the Leeds branch many many times over my lifetime and it is so much better, Asked why the name changed but didn't get an answer?

Called in Whitby for shopping. Met by man offering 'two for one', so went in for lunch. So obviously it was good value. This was a winter offer, so go in winter and find the bargains. Would I pay double? possibly not I think there are better places, but its a great location for lunch and could not fault the... More

In fairness to Graveleys this chippy is no longer owned by Graveleys. visited on 21st Feb 2014. Poor. Shall not go again. we both ordered f & c's. Scraps requested but did not get any. Mushy peas cold- sent back- still cold upon return. I counted my 17 chips!!! And gave them all names. When the size of the portion... More

Always used this restaurant when it was kyber and it was excellent, have now tried it several times since becoming Graveleys and have yet to be impressed. I don't normaly write reviews but here goes, the customer service has slowly declined even thought some staff are from the kyber days, I think they have lost heart, the first occasion our... More

We made a visit here one lunch time because every where seemed to be full. It reminded me of the tacky seafront chippies on the coast of most English resorts. I think I must have been kidding myself when I ordered lobster thermidor , what I received was lobster covered with grated cheese and grilled. That is NOT lobster thermidor.... More

My girlfriend and I visited Fishermans Wife, formerly Graveleys, on 1st June and the food and service was vastly superior to any other similar restaurant we have visited. Ok, you go there for the fish and chips? Yes? But wait, you should also try the white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake, made by a young lady who works there. Is it... More

For lovely fish n chips with a sea view in whitby come here. Had a lovely meal here 5th of May. We asked for the skin to be taken off the fish as that's how we like it. It wasn't a problem for them. We used to go to the Magpie but now it will be Graveleys everytime. Better altogether.... More

Visited this restaurant at the weekend. Noted that is it now called The Fishermans Wife. Food was lovely. Better Fish and Chips than I have previously had at the Magpie, at a much more reasonable price. Service was brill. And finally, the view out across the sea was fabulous. Looking forward to returning in the winter when the sea is... More
