Description: Beckett's is a small, family-run, dog-friendly coffee shop off the beaten track in lovely Skinner Street. We serve a small but ever-changing menu made from local ingredients where possible including delicious soups and 'beckanini' - which are large, soft and not gum-cloggingly dry. Our cakes are all sticky and home-made using real butter and free-range eggs (the rhubarb and custard cake is a favourite) and new this year are home-made cookies. The coffee is delicious and all Fairtrade.

I absolutely love this café! We visit Beckett's every time we come to Whitby! it's a must for us. The staff are the friendliest you will ever meet and do everything they can for you. The coffee is beautiful and the mugs :o) Then we get to the cakes......WOW! everything is home made, locally sourced and the eggs are free... More

Visited beckett's after reading all the fab reviews on here and we weren't disappointed. We were worried that we wouldn't fit in with our buggie but the staff were extremely welcoming and quickly made room for us. Staff were very attentive and friendly. They kindly brought our little boy a plate of nibbles (free of charge) to keep him occupied.... More

My friend & I visited this delightful coffee shop whilst in Whitby for the day. It's off the beaten track but still has a lot of foot traffic passing through its doors. Our lunch was absolutely scrumptious. The cakes are simply to die for. I can honestly say I have not had a good tasting coffee cake like that for... More

Cosy, warm, welcoming, reassuring, comforting and a bit raggy around the edges. Unlike slippers (!), you have to go a long way before tasting cakes like theirs!

Don't visit this place without having a 'Beckini' - mine was chorizo with tomato and mozzarella. Oh my days, a taste sensation! Sorry but no where in town comes close to a pannini of this standard. And the cakes! Sumptuous and satisfying yet light enough to not feel guilty for indulging. Coffee is lovely and the staff are helpful, happy... More

After reading all the rave reviews we took the trouble of finding Becketts which is slightly hidden away - and the effort was well worth it. The cakes looked amazing but we needed something more filling and so ordered a panini each along with a latte. What arrived at our table was an amazing lunch along with various little extras... More

Having read the other reviews we just had to call in. Well it was every bit a joy. The pictures on here of the cake slices are real. In fact if like me you get the last bit you may well get a bigger bit. I went for orange cake and my wife went for the coconut and lime. Both... More

While on holiday with the wife, we both called in for coffee. As usual the staff were warming (shame the weather wasn't, although, they did make up for that. Not only did their friendly spirit warm us though, their exceptional home-made cakes and coffees did too. a thoroughly enjoyed experience. In truth, I wish I could keep it a secret... More
