Description: Beckett's is a small, family-run, dog-friendly coffee shop off the beaten track in lovely Skinner Street. We serve a small but ever-changing menu made from local ingredients where possible including delicious soups and 'beckanini' - which are large, soft and not gum-cloggingly dry. Our cakes are all sticky and home-made using real butter and free-range eggs (the rhubarb and custard cake is a favourite) and new this year are home-made cookies. The coffee is delicious and all Fairtrade.

this place is ideal for you and your dog but very cramped seating if the party is more than that, nothing special by any means.

If I could award this place 10 stars out of 5 I would every time!!! Even more so now that I have experienced it with my beloved dog (a very friendly 6 year old Rottie cross Labrador). We have been to Beckett's coffee shop 5 times now in the past 3 years, we found this place by accident one day... More

I like cakes. However, almost without fail whether in Britain or abroad they disappoint. I have been conned into buying a slice of fabulous looking cake only to tuck in and be hugely let down. Not this time. Spotted Trip Advisor reviews and we called in for a mid afternoon pit stop on a wet and grey day. Large slice... More

We hiked up a good distance because Tripadvisors’ reporters put this at number one. It was midmorning and a latte was being called for. We walked in and were warmly greeted. I ordered our drinks and an orange/chocolate biscuit. All was okay but not inspiring enough for a four dot, let alone a five. Even though it is a wee... More

Made a bee line for Beckett's when we arrived in Whitby, purely based on the reviews on Trip Advisor. What a wonderful place. Lovely decor, a warm welcome and genuine relaxed atmosphere. Hubby and I had a coffee each and shared the white choc and raspberry sponge cake. It was out if this world! I have never tasted cake as... More

No visit to Whitby is complete without visiting Beckett's for a delicious smoked bacon beckanini followed by a huge piece of cake "to die for" and an excellent cup of coffee. A dog friendly delight, much appreciated, thank you so much. Very popular, the service is excellent by all concerned.

Came here with my family on Bank Holiday Monday. The lovely ladies offered straight away to push two tables together for us. Lovely coffee and drinks. Had a really large meal only a few hours previously or would have definitely been tempted by the beautiful cakes on offer, although judging by our previous visits they looked as scrummy as always....
