Description: Beckett's is a small, family-run, dog-friendly coffee shop off the beaten track in lovely Skinner Street. We serve a small but ever-changing menu made from local ingredients where possible including delicious soups and 'beckanini' - which are large, soft and not gum-cloggingly dry. Our cakes are all sticky and home-made using real butter and free-range eggs (the rhubarb and custard cake is a favourite) and new this year are home-made cookies. The coffee is delicious and all Fairtrade.

I've often been past Becketts but it's always been packed so I was delighted to spot a table for our party of four, plus Presley our dog. The lady was super friendly, bringing water for Presley and some little doggy treats. I was impressed with the homely, comfortable atmosphere where nothing was too much trouble. We all picked from the... More

Mum and I popped in here for a cuppa and a slice of cake after reading all the reviews and it didn't dissapoint. Staff were friendly and saw to us straight away. I spent an age looking after the cake display before deciding on the banana and toffee cake. YUMMY!

We went to Becketts on the last day of our holiday. What a great place to go. Homemade cakes to die for and the cookies were fantastic(also homemade). Run by a lovely family, who are all friendly and cheerful! They do becketini's that are like paninni's but much better! Filled with smoked bacon and cheese. Gorgeous! Dog friendly and people... More

The biggest wedge of lovely cake and "proper" coffee served with a smile. Great to be served with people that have personality and want to be there.

I had a coffee with cream and it tasted odd. I asked for more cream to improve the taste and noticed it was Elmlea cream substitute! This is 25% vegetable oil and banned is some countries due to trans fats. This is supposed to be a quality place!

Popped in on saturday for afternoon tea and cake with my partner. We were greeted by one of the friendliest women ive ever had the pleasure of being served by, although she'd probably say it was her pleasure ;) I did not catch her name but she really made this cosy tea and cake shop come to life and gave...
