Beckett's is a small, family-run, dog-friendly coffee shop off the beaten track in lovely Skinner Street. We serve a small but ever-changing menu made from local ingredients where possible including delicious soups and 'beckanini' - which are large, soft and not gum-cloggingly dry. Our cakes are all sticky and home-made using real butter and free-range eggs (the rhubarb and custard cake is a favourite) and new this year are home-made cookies. The coffee is delicious and all Fairtrade.

Fabulous dog friendly coffee shop

So much choice you do not know which cake to select. All very filling and totally delicious. One perfect detail here is that dogs are truly welcomed and treated to a dog biscuit or two. I think this is the best cafe in Whitby. Fabulous cakes and coffee, lovely attentive staff, books to read, great atmosphere. Dogs allowed, and made welcome. Even given dog treats and cuddles. Try the Chocolate and Almond cake and the Rhubarb and custard cake, delicious. Very good value too. We always make a point of going there when we have... More

Had passed by a few times and noticed they were often busy. Had already had Sunday lunch elsewhere so just called in for a quick flat white. Great range of hot drinks available, lots of teas, all the usual coffee options plus hot chocolate, Horlicks etc. The cakes looked very tempting and we may well return to sample them later... More

Beckett's offers superb food and an awesome selection of wonderful mome made cakes baked on the premises. The cake slices were so huge, my wife and I had to share one piece! Dogs are welcome and get their own individual water bowl. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. Every time we visit Whiby, we always visit Beckett's.

If you want a nice hot drink and a huge slab of cake, the best place in Whitby to go is Beckett's! Dogs welcomed too! Staff are always friendly. However, they are closed on Wednesdays.

We popped into Beckett's for a coffee after a long walk with our greyhound. We were welcomed in, especially Willow, who was provided with a blanket to lie on, fresh water and a little treat straight away. The coffee was excellent and the cafe has a lovely atmosphere. We'll definitely be back.

We have visited Whitby many times but never noticed this cafe. So pleased we found it on a walkabout. What a friendly welcome and lovely choice of cake with far to many to choose form. We settled for orange & chocolate. Good choice, moist with plenty pieces of chocolate and as we usually share a piece it was cut in... More
