Looked at the previous reviews and thought we would try. The starter was lovely. The staff were really attentive. However the main wasn't great but overall we would go back to try it again. More

Have been meaning to go to Number 4 for a while after seeing the good reviews and so pleased we did. We enjoyed the tasty fresh food & also the great friendly service from the minute we entered but make sure you push the door hard because it sticks !!! We were not rushed at all & the attention to... Three courses of delicious food for £15 what a bargain. Anyone in Whitby should make a point of coming here the food is lovely, as are the staff. Really worth coming a bit off the tourist track for this. More

Can not praise this restauraunt enough , we have eaten at Greens and Ditto on previous visits to Whitby, and whilst they were very good we thought Number 4 surpassed both. Its a nice walk up on the West cliff, just follow the main road round to the parade, only a 15 min walk from town( ideal if you are... More

found out about this gem of a restuarant from our guest house information guide. The food and service were both excellent. They do an early bird menu 2 courses for £13 or 3 courses for £15. The interior design is really nice with subtle lighting. Our guest house was quite close by, but it would be a pleasant walk up... More

This place is located quite a walk out of the town centre. Basically at the end of the clifftop walks, turn left and its in the middle of a row of shops. The owner was attentive and we were given free olives to eat while choosing our food. The home made bread was lovely, the food very very nice and... More

We both had the Soup to start , Broccoli & Blue cheese and it was delicious and served with home made bread rolls , main course... More

I visited Number 4 after seeing a menu for it at the B&B I was staying at. It was further out of town than any restaurant I had been to so far but was definitely worth the cliff top stroll. We got there before 7pm so were offered the 'teatime treat' menu which has 3 courses for £15. The food... More
