Our revisit didn't disappoint us at all

Food here is excellent and love the smaller scale of this smaller restaurant. The staff don't rush you, but do look after you with attentive friendly service. If you like the authentic American Diner experience this is the place to head for.

Went in here with a friend around a week ago & had a couple of Captain A's top end burgers. Offered a choice of how I would like my burger cooked which was rare & was done to perfection. Only criticism is the tables were a little small for my friend as he is a larger gentlemen. However cannot fault... More

I have been eating here for over 30 years and I enjoy taking my parents and children there now. The food is always of a good standard and the portions are a good size too. It is a shame the owner is retiring.

Having left Norwich 28 years ago I didn't realise this place was still there. It had been a big favourite of mine in my teens. While visiting family before Christmas we stumbled across Captain A's as I was showing my 20yo son and his girlfriend the wonderful old back streets of the city centre. Captain A's may be very small,... More

My wife and I have been going to Captain A's for over 30 years. Ownership has recently changed hands but the food and service do not appear to have changed for the worst, which so often happens when new owners take over. Captain Americas have the best burgers I have every tasted and the chilli burger is my favourite by... More

Came to Captain A's with the lads to have a catch up and swap some wild NYE tales over a beer and a burger. Did not disappoint. Beautiful waitresses all smiles helped us to our booth as we're all still clearly struggling through hangovers from hell. Patient staff. We were just happy to sit down and get away from the... More

We went based on the recommendation that it was the best burger place in Norwich. Sadly I found this not to be. My chese and bacon burger came out quickly but then took ages to get sauces. Then it turned out that for just over £9 you got a piece of plastic cheese that had disintegrated into the burger, tiny... More

I remember coming here in my teens, (some time ago, i am approaching 60 now) it was always exciting, great burgers and bubbly attractive staff. This visit I found the place dull and the food well below average, not what it use to be!

Absolutely love this little restaurant, very cosy and small. Love the paper placemat menus. The senior waitress is an absolute diamond, she was taking to us for ages about the restaurant & how long she had worked there & loved her job, such a friendly lady & super efficient. Food as delicious and portion size huge! Once ordered it arrived... More
