This is well located and really looks an attractive place to eat. There are two rooms, one a typical wine bar with atmosphere and noise: the other a very nice restaurant. Sadly we were put off on arrival by being ignored for ages, and finally seated in the restaurant room where service was decidedly slow - perhaps the bar room... More

Great location near Playhouse Theatre. Able to get seat in bar restaurant due to a cancellation - interesting atmosphere - very pleasant vibe. Other patrons said that bar restaurant definitely has the edge over other eating areas. Good food - delicious and different crab starter, scallops served with flair too. Would absolutely recommend pork main and swordfish main. Swordfish tender... More

We had a very nice meal here, with some interesting food combinations. The price is top end and wine by the glass certainly racks up the total but the atmosphere and service is very congenial

A group of friends visit a different UK city each year and the visit to this place was a delight. Prompt service and delicious food from a narrow but interesting menu. 6 people had a variety of starters, mains and sweets and there were no duds. definitely the best of the four places we ate.

We celebrated my birthday at The Last! Not having been for some time it was great to be back. The food and atmosphere is a s good as ever. They were exceptionally busy and the service was slower than normal. The team were ahead of me and had recognised that our main course was not served as quickly as they... More

Crispy Belly Pork Starter : Not crispy crackling at all so was in fact Chewy belly pork.... Tender Sirloin Steak : not tender and tasted old and 'fridgey' had to spit out gristle. So was in fact Chewy Sirloin Steak.... Rosti Potato bore no resemblance to the delicious Swiss rosti ! Was a stodgy nasty rectangle of some baked and... More

Dear Neilpimpernel57, Obviously it's really alarming to read comments of this nature. We have been trading here at The Last for a long time & have worked hard to establish the reputation we enjoy today. I am very aware of the importance of consistency & maintaining the quality of what we offer so comments such as yours will clearly serve... More

Probably one of the best meals we have had in a longtime. Staff were friendly without being intrusive and knowledgeable about the menu. Good choice on the menu; the scallop starters were superb and the main courses equally impressive. Have bod to come again!

We were 14 and none of us had eaten here before. If you have eaten in restaurants when there are lots of you to be served at the same time you know, on the whole, to lower your expectations. Wrong! We were one of two large groups plus other diners and all the food appeared on time and at the... More
