Description: St Benedict's is an authentic French bistro in Norwich's quirky St Benedict's Street. Friendly and relaxed, the dining room attracts Francophiles and fashionistas alike, and is perfect for an indulgent late-night meal, post-shopping pick-me-up or a chic chocolat chaud with friends. We love the slow-cooked crispy duck with braised chicory balsamic reduction and grilled naval orange and the double baked cheese souffle. St Benedict's warm, Van-Gogh-esque navy and yellow interior, sensational wine list and fantastically French waiting staff will transport you across the channel before you can say steak frites.

A restaurant that has maintained its high standards over many years. Always consistently good. Not big portions but beautifully flavoured. Friendly staff. Avoid busy times as it can become noisy then which spoils the intimate atmosphere. Table d'hote excellent value and good range in ala carte. Special requests available (I have had snails in garlic butter prepared for me, wonderful).... More

We went in for lunch today because the restaurant looked very nice and they had a good set meal on offer, The young guy who served us was very attentive. The starter was very average and my main course - cottage pie was hot and tasty but very salty. My partner chose the sea bass which he said was very... More

Ate here this evening with my 20 yo son, very pleasant evening. Good food, nicely presented. Youngish-man who served was very kind and attentive, couldn't fault him. £64 for two, three courses, quite reasonable I thought. Would happily return.

We've visited this restaurant many times and found the food and service to be excellent. Our recent visit was so disappointing. My garlic bread roll could hardly be snapped, soup lacked taste and same with the duck starter. The steaks were very fatty and for the first time, all four diners left food for quality reasons. We just wanted to... More

Been meaning to try this place out for some time after thoroughly enjoying the sister restaurants pinnochios and the library. Unfortunately, this one did not meet my expectations. There was a lack of ambiance for a Friday evening as the restaurant was not very busy however the meat ordered tasted wonderful. The pork was succulent and the lamb cooked to... More

We were very pleased to find a restaurant in the heart of Norwich which managed to squeeze in a party of three, not booked, on a busy Saturday night! The menu was imaginative and all three main meals were excellent, oh and the house red was surprisingly good! The deserts, although on the pricey side, we're fabulous and the presentation... More

A really excellent lunch. We came here three years ago and finding ourselves back in Norwich sought this restaurant out again. It did not let us down. From the arrival greeting to our departure we were looked after really well, attentive but not intrusive and just what we like. From our observations that is the service that everyone else had... We were in a group of about 10 for an occasion. Most of us had pre ordered our meal a month or so ago. When the order came not many folk could remember what they had. It would have been helpful if the staff called the name of the person who the food was for. My Grilled peach and buffalo... More

Delicious food, well presented and changed menu for individual requirements. Two young staff delightful. Lovely relaxed atmosphere. Will definitely return. Do support the Norwich independent restaurants we do not want to loose them.

You can only comment on your experience at the time and ours is as follows. Staff pleasant and attentive but not over so. Food was excellent I can recommend the cheese soufflé. Special mention for the young guy who was managing as he seemed to be enjoying his job which showed to us at least. Table was booked for 8,... More
