Birthday dinner

Visited with a large group for my sons birthday. Service good. Fillet steak very tasty. Didn't worry about pudding but my son also had the tiramisu treatment, which although I laughed it was fairly rough! Maybe the staff should go easy on the embarrassment front.

The black cab driver raved about this restaurant and I am a mug for a great pizza, I was not disappointed simply the best I have had in the UK. In short great food extremely welcoming family atmosphere and good wines at a very reasonable price.

The only problem we have had with Al Forno is that it is so popular that it is always full! We were lucky to get a table for six. The food is tasty and well made - they do great pastas and amazing pizzas. For one person the small pizza is usually large enough. The pastas come in starter portions... More

I went to Al Forno on Thursday evening, been there 3 times previously and decided to return for their delicious pizza bread after a long gap. It was busy and buzzing with young professionals and couples, lovely rustic decor which makes you feel relaxed and at home. We ordered pizza bread with cheese which I remembered as amazing piece of... More

There are three Al Forno establishment to my knowledge one in New Malden, one in Upper Richmond Road, Putney, and one in Wimbledon. This review is about the Wimbledon establishment. Al Forno is a Pizzeria/Trattoria, the food is good by Trattoria standards. The Wimbledon establishment in my opinion is the best of the three. The decor is rustic, with walls... More

Hi, we went to the restaurant yesterday night and were disappointed... The service was really really poor: main arriving as we were still eating our appetizers, 20 min for the bill to come after asking, loud birthday music on speaker, no proactivity (when I asked for a 2nd fork to the waiter for a dessert to share, it was like... I recently had the misfortune of going to this restaurant with a group of friends to celebrate my birthday. The food was fairly terrible and I would never go back on that basis alone however my main complaint is about the staff and their apparent free reign to behave utterly inappropriately. At the end of our meal our waiter turned... More

You walk into a nice family run restaurant with a good ambiance and decent enough décor. It reminded me a little of some home run restaurants I've visited in Italy. The food though was pretty derisory. My pasta was swimming in a watery sauce and contained ingredients that appeared to be from a tin. It didn't taste up to much.... More

Ended up here almost by chance. Such a pleasure. The food is amazing. Probably one of the best pizzas I have ever eaten. And not often I cannot finish a medium size pizza. Also had a great atmosphere. A real buzz. Not sure you can just walk in off the street. It was exceptionally busy. Wine was passable.

The Place was buzzing and packed with people, so we thought we were in for a good time. The staff were very friendly and helpful, but so so busy. The food was very average. I ordered a Chicken dish with Asparagus (which is in season at the moment) when it arrived it had no Asparagus on it. I called over... More
