Lovely food, hectic atmosphere 50/50

We booked al forno for my mothers in law birthday, as my girlfriend as been before and told us how nice it is. On arrival at 7:30 on Saturday night, there's was a long queue outside like some doggy nightclub, after we managed to squeeze our way through the crowd and through the tiny entrance to the... read more

I come here with my husband and we always have a great romantic dinner, the place is always busy but you never have to wait long for food or drinks. The quality is very good for the prices, lovely list of Italian reds and a guaranteed good night out.

Firstly I would like to say that this is not my first trip to Al Forno and all my other experiences have been positive and have been there on company work do's. Now the shoe is on the other foot when wanting somewhere cosy and quiet when out as a couple because it was very noisy and loud and a... More

We often go here for a casual dinner and it has never disappointed. The food is always great and really tasty. The staff are friendly and always very attentive and accommodating. The food is really reasonable - all in all just a great local restaurant with a real authentic feel. Would highly recommend!

Nice place. quick service. we are a fequent visitor. Although when we visited in December they couldnt really cope with the amount of diners. Service was slow our main course was brought before our starter. But nornally its pretty good and a reasonable price. Would recommend.

Food was ok - enjoyed my pasta dish. Friends - mixed in regard to quality of the food. Service - waiter seemed under pressure - not very happy. Probably would go back for lunch - but not for a special occasion.

Having reasonably enjoyed a take-away pizza of theirs (wouldn't say it was good) we decided to eat-in this time. There is nothing to commend it in terms of food, atmosphere, or service. But the place is successful and has been for many years. Clearly they know their target market and cater for it well. Shalln't rush back.

We were there for New Years Eve 2015/16, and had a fabulous time. The food was excellent even though it was a fixed menu.
