Their pizza is so consistently excellent I have only ever tasted other dishes here. Thin crust, cooked perfectly so it doesn't flop and need two hands to eat a slice, a surprisingly large base with generous toppings, in a great atmosphere with competent staff, it's no wonder it is so many people's favourite. Did I mention its also very reasonably... More

Came here with a big pre booked party and the restaurant did not have the facilities to deal with us. They should not have accepted our booking if they did not have the space or employees to give all 30 of us a half decent service. We were uncomfortably jammed in a corner and there was no space between chairs,... More

I could easily say that the food was perfecto and thoroughly enjoyed it, house red wine went down quite nicely The only issue was on the service side and I think that was due to the fact that the place was packed Would definitely go again

I've just been to Al Forno in Wimbledon with my girlfriend and mum for a double birthday celebration and we had a wonderful time. The staff were very polite and helpful and the food was really nice as well. They even did a surprised us with a dessert with a candle and sang happy birthday at our table. Had a... More

First of all, let me make it clear that I umm'ed and aah'ed about whether to give this 1 or 2 stars. Literally after 2 seconds of that I decided it was an easy decision - 1 star because I feel that is all it is worth. I visit restaurants quite often and blog about my experiences whenever I visit... Visited on Saturday 13 December 2014 after many years of happy visits. Again, the food was very good, the service was good with plenty of fun banter. We enjoyed a couple of drinks and the three course xmas menu, then the bill arrived ... When we queried what the rogue £60 amount was we were told we didn't have to... More

We've been loyal customers & on Sat night were ignored & left waiting for 15 mins at door. Surprised to see of of their experienced waiters re-using a fork he'd just picked up from the ground & coupled with overcooked, watery bolognese won't be going back.

Went here for our Christmas doo just yesterday. Was 5 of us, but the restaurant had a large party of people in and was quite full in the downstairs. Half our our party were late, but the restaurant was very good an kept their meal warm and served them promptly when they arrived. The food wasn't the best I've had,... More

I have always loved this restaurant and it used to be my 'go-to' for all group or cosy dinners in Wimbledon. But I have eaten here twice in the past 2 months and both the food and service have gone downhill. Nearly two hours passed before we ate our meals and we had to ask the staff repeatedly for drinks... Crap service, mediocre food, bad attitude all round, forty minute wait despite reservation and finally overpriced. The only authentic Italian thing is the Attitude.
