Myself and my partner had just finished a Jack The Ripper tour and were cold, hungry and both fancied a curry. My partner and I had dinner here the other night after completing the Jack the Ripper tour. We asked the guide which was the best place and he recommended this one. We thought the food was great and the staff were very friendly and service was good the only thing that we thought wasn't good about the experience was the... More

Eaten here for many years. Owner has not changed for 15 years and although decoration wise it could do with a refresh, it's cosy and most importantly has excellent food and staff are really nice. They have some fantastic fish curry's which is a Bangladesh speciality but all the food is lovely. With two large beers, starter and main never... More

Thought I'd pop in for a curry even though it was empty. Staff didn't seem verb motivated to serve me however and considering the place was empty I still had to ask someone to actually come and take my order! The chicken chat starter was Luke warm and the consistency of the chicken was weird. Not sure whether the meat... More

As a first visit I forgot to check TripAdvisor for top rated places so endured the salesman pitch outside each restaurant. After too many we are the best we stopped running the gauntlet and entered the Saffron. Uhm! Food average, staff average, place average and price for 5 starters, 5 main meals and 5 beers close to £120. My local... More

One word fits..... Terrible. One of the blandest and most overpriced Indians I have been in for a while. Completely tasteless chicken tikka shatkora . Shockingly bad and based on this lunch I'd advise steering well clear.

This is Brick Lane, you broker a deal.Me and my mate were approached by the waiter guy outside, and we told him we wanted a starter, garlic nan, pint of larger, rice and a curry for a tenner and that's exactly what we got. It was good, not fantastic but for the value is was great and it was decent... More

We popped in here on a recent visit to London, at the instigation of one of the waiters who was hanging about outside. There was nobody on the street, it was late January and most of the restaurants were empty, including this one. We ordered Tandoori chicken, lamb jalfrezi, rice and were asked if we wanted pappadams. We should have... More

On walking down Brick Lane, looking for lunch we were invited in by what looked like the owner. A little tired after a lot of walking we succumbed to his offer. Little did we know how good the food turned out to be. One of the best curries we've had in some time, the service was perfect and attentive. The... More

Staying in Spitalfields

Neighborhood Profile
Spitalfields
For a glimpse of Georgian and Victorian London at its most pristine, or a peek into what's apt to be the next big global trend, the hipster zone of Spitalfields can provide hours of amazement. Around the clock, this is a haven for early morning bargain hunters sizing up its street markets, foodie foragers throughout the day, or late night revelers hitting some of London's most popular bars and clubs.

Wedged between the business-minded City of London, expressly trendy Shoreditch, and zestful Whitechapel, the lines between traditional and contemporary beautifully blur in this historic East End nexus.
