We went to Brick Lane for its legendary curry and found this place disappointing. The food was too sweet with little flavour and no chilli. Attracted by a £10 per head deal, we paid well above that when a previously-undisclosed £6 service charge and expensive drinks were added.

I visited this restaurant initially to write an article on Brick Lane, I then went to eat there on my own on a Sunday and then once again with a friend. The food was delicious, the service was brilliant and I cannot thank Saffron enough for their hospitality. I wish the owner would reply to my email though as I... More

Just had lunch today (29th) my daughter and I were"ushered in" by a guy on the door Totally feel conned because we didn't notice the set menu in the window at£7.95 for 2courses, nor were we offered this menu. We paid £49.80 for 2starters, 2 mains, 2nan and 1 bottle wine £12 plus a £5.55 service chg which we didn't... More

The venue - Appears to have not been refurbished since 1970, very dark and old inside, furnishings out dates. The entire place needs refurbishing. The food - Nothing to write home about, curries were watery and lacked flavour. The staff - waiters - friendly enough and service was quick BUT, be weary of the people outside on the door who... We went here for NYE, and was haggled in by a guy standing outside. We opted for a deal; any starter, any main, 1 rice, 1 naan, 1 ice-cream dessert and 2 drinks each for £15 each. We were quite happy since this is pretty good for a NYE deal. We both had the mixed starter which was a samosa,... More

12.5% service charge turned into a panic afterwards. We argued it aswe thought it popped out of know here little bit cheeky meal was nice. Didn't like the lad who beaconed us in to start off with walking past us and saying in a sarky way did you enjoy your meal with a toothy grin knowing we had been screwed... More

Reasonable price. Very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable service! Food is very good even if not excellent but very good food value for the price!

Whenever we go to London we take care to visit this restaurant. The staff is friendly and compliant, and the food just the way we like our Indian food. Lower prices than central London, but not inferior in snu other respect. Our warmest recommendations!

Stopped over for early dinner at around 5pm today. Food was freshly prepared to a very high standard, and was a pleasure to eat and most enjoyable. Highly recommend it.

The moment we entered Brick Lane we were "spotted" by three sets of touts working for rival restaurants. We tried in vain to get away but were ultimately persuaded to eat at Saffron with the promise of a free drink each and 25% off the final bill. First impressions are the restaurant is very small and the staff are polite... More
