Have a drink here, lovely venue, lots of character, either downstairs in the dark basement or outside enjoying the sun, great choice of wine here, it really is for the wine, not food, unless you want cheese with wine, which works well, but wouldn't bother having meal here..service is ok, it's mainly the character of venue that you go for... As always, Gordon's is a special night (especially now we don't get there very often because of the children!) What makes Gordon's amazing is that it has a clear sense of its own identity and is totally secure in what it is. It serves wine and cheese. The best of both. We've just come back from another amazing time. I... More

Recommended by a friend who had lived in London for a while, this is definitely the place to go if wanna have a glass of wine in a special place. Downstairs its crowded but friendly and very easy going. And they offer a huge variation of very good wines.

This bar is my "must visit place" every time I'm in London. I love the cozy, relaxing atmosphere to have drinks with friends. Sometimes a bit difficult to find a place to sit in a "cave like" area, but usually we didn't have to wait for long. I love the smoked cheese and I think it's the best from all... More

A fantastic find. Surprising venue and fantastic atmosphere. The food selection was good and varied. The service was quick and the food was delicious. Would love to go again some day

Cosy inside, and the great atmosphere continues in the outdoor seating areas, plenty of tables and chairs with cover/heaters for the colder months. Can be a struggle to get a table during busy times, and especially if the weathers nice. But definitely a favourite of ours for a nice bottle of wine, staff always friendly. Toilet facilities not brilliant.

Let me say first that I love Gordon's. It's a must-visit every time I'm in London.I love the atmosphere, the great wine, sherry and fab cheese platters , I love the candlelight, the buzz. BUT I don't like the toilets. We visited this Saturday 5th April. The place was as ever, busy but there was a slight lull after lunch.... More

We visited after being totally blown away following the Veronese exhibition at the National. The bar was buzzing when we arrived at 4:00 p.m. drinks were bought and a table found. This is truly a wonderful place, dark but not pitch black, candles lighting the way and low ceilings provide an intimate setting. The oldest wine bar in London... magical!... More

Note that I visited at 1 on a Monday, definitely not the peak rush time...I thought everything about the place was great, very memorable. Traveling alone I was easily able grab a table inside (snap a few pictures without disturbing anyone as it was relatively empty), have some delicious cheese platter and a couple of fantastic glasses of wine. The... More

Some lovely wine here. Some seem very steeply priced however whatever you pay you will never get a bad glass of wine! Was lovely sitting outside in the sun and enjoying a glass of wine. The bar itself is very cosy with little snug areas - ideal for a date night
