Great in winter, you can huddle in the cellar like feel of the bar itself, and lovely on a summer evening in the outdoor area. It gets very crowded after work so get there early! Beer enthusiasts - serves mostly wine (duh).

This little 'pirate bar' as a local referred to it is one of the best restaurants I've ever been in. Rumor is that the bar was a favorite for pirates, roughens, and scalawags alike in it's heyday. Ha, I can believe it! It is just a small little place downtown, if you weren't looking for it, you would definitely miss... More

Wonderful and full of character with the best wine choice in the capital. We went on a very hot day and the outside tables were full. Inside was dark, candlelit and cool. We had a cheese plate 2 large prices of a selection of cheese baguette and help yourself to salad for £9.50 barga

As my boyfriend is French, it seemed fitting to take him to Gordan's wine bar to grab a bottle of red and some cheese. I stumbled upon this wine bar online and was so happy I did!! The place is just amazing and full of history!! It is such a beautiful atmosphere, we couldn't have been more happy! Table and... More

Always a popular place, this cosy, cave like, atmosphere filled wine bar is a great place to enjoy a glass (or bottle!) - but it can be difficult to find a table or even space to stand due to how small it is. This is not a problem in summer when you can congregrate outside in the sunshine. Staff are... More

I love Gordon's and have been going for many years. The atmosphere is great and its setting unique. There is a fabulous choice of wine and the food is great. However , their opening hours are a bit outdated. Having been to the theatre we popped into Gordon's on the way home. We had only had our drinks in our... More

Delicious wine, cheese, and jams all in a character-filled cave right in the middle of London. And if you need a little air, go outside to the bustling patio to enjoy your wine. I can't wait to go back.

We found it almost by accident when looking for somewhere to avoid a rain shower. I feel very fortunate that we did. A gem of a place with the bar being down in a old wine cellar, sells some beautiful wines, ports & sherries and although we didn't eat there ourselves the cheese boards that people were eating looked fabulous.... Open every day: 11am to 11pm, so it's always a good choice. Said to be the oldest bar in London. Award winning wine list. Great ambiance. Full of stories and history, food, wine and happy people around. In front of it there's a very nice little park.
