Great Pub in West Hampstead

Great place to eat when in this area. Typical English Pub with excellent food and a fantastic variety of local beer. The waitress actually brought each of us a shot glass of the different beers and from that tasting each of us chose one. They have a beautiful garden to use when the weather is... read more

After traveling around Europe it was good to be surrounded my Kiwis. I was there for the rugby game on Saturday against England. Good to see a good kiwi crowd there supporting the pub and the All Blacks. The food was what I expected for a small pub, there was only a selected amount options due to the amount of... More

I brought my mum here Saturday just gone for a birthday breakfast, hoping that it would be nice as I had read some fairly nice reviews. The coffee was cold which I asked to be re-heated then the breakfast was cold. I didn't send the food back as we had quite a weird look from the waitress when I complained... More

Our wedding party arrived late on Friday after a rehearsal at the church, for a pre booked meal. There were 10 of us. Tables were ready, service was friendly and fast, food was excellent. We will definitely come again, and would recommend this venue to others.

Since the new owner took over a few years ago, this pub has become a real gem. Super friendly staff, great selection of wine & beer but the food - good honest high quality pub food - is well worth the trip. Everything is fresh, tasty & well prepared. We had whitebait, crab & salmon & the kids meals were... More

I took my daughter and her friend here for lunch one Sunday. We loved the look of the place but the food was so disappointing .......less than mediocre. Main complaint was my chicken had been flavoured with what had to be (or anyway tasted like) commercial BBQ sauce - very uninspiring and not what it was called on the menu.... More

There are lots of great pubs along the river. Unfortunately, The Black Lion is somewhat ruined by the slightly rude service offered by the New Zealander chap who runs the place. The food was quite slow coming out of the kitchen and his attitude was along the lines of "Relax. Why are you in such a rush?" We found his... More
