Great Post Tate

A nice atmosphere on a quiet Wednesday night in late November. Friendly service, decent food and I wouldn't hesitate to go again.

Not impressed with the food at all. I ordered the fish pie. Very little fish and mostly mash potato. Also dry. Rest of the family ordered roasts to find the meat tough and chewy. Staff aren't exactly rude but not very welcoming. Doubt I will visit again.

My colleague and I went to dine there twice. She had the wild game pie and I had the steak and mushroom pie the next night. Delicious soup too. We also enjoyed the cider. Nice place, you may need to book ahead. I recommend it for all.

We needed a restaurant around Pimlico, had a Taste card and found Chimes and are really glad we did Firstly if you don’t know the area take a map or use your phone as it’s a bit confusing to find. It’s a very unpretentiously furnished restaurant with a really nice English menu We started off with the soup, but there... More

I have been going to this place for years and I always make a point of going back whenever I am in London. Because finding a place in that area that serves decent cider is not as easy as it should be. This place serves a variety of good ciders. The food - typical English fare - is good too.... More

My husband and I were looking for a place to have some Shepherd's Pie and this was within walking distance of our hotel. We arrived close to the end of the lunch menu and were still able to get a meal that tasted fresh. The gentleman who served us was very pleasant, describing the neighborhood to us, asking us about... We took our parents for an anniversary meal last night. We have been before and the meal and service was just as good. I can highly recommend the black pudding starter. Used the tastecard too so the bill was reasonable. Looking forward to our next visit.

We went to Chimes after I read online of their cider selection. We arrived a bit late, and most every table was full. After reading the menu at the door, I was primed for their lamb shank, but so were many other patrons, apparently, as it was "finished" for the evening. Instead, I had the game pie, and my friend... Staying in Pimlico

Neighborhood Profile
Pimlico
Time spent in Pimlico is a slower-paced affair than most other Central London neighborhoods. This largely residential area orderly arranged beside the Thames, is a treasure trove of quaint pubs, subtle architectural charms and local boutiques. Here, art lovers thrill at the chance to visit the world class Tate Britain gallery for its collection of British art from the 1500s to the present. For peace and quiet and some downtime spent along the Thames, Pimlico is highly recommended.
