Good food, but everybody is in a rush...

Since there were people outside waiting to be seated, all the staff was rushing to serve the food asap and get the table free for other guests. No place for relaxed dining.

On Gerard Street in Chinatown. One of many restaurants but it stood out as looking good. Reviewed menu which was extensive. Took time to select from the many items offered. Among to outstanding dishes were Dim Sim and a dish of shrimp in Black bean sauce. Food was very fresh and presented beautifully. Staff was very accommodating. Very helpful in... More

A good selection of well prepared dim sum - soup dumplings, rice steamed in lotus leaves, pork dumplings. This is the only London Chinese restaurant I've found who do late night dim sum. I've been back half a dozen times, most recently twice in May 2015.

We went for lunch without reservation. We asked for a table, there were 5 of us. We were reluctantly given a table for 4 people and were all squashed together. When we tried to move the chairs around to give us some more space we were told to return. So we were not made to feel very welcome. The menu... More

We have ordered a crispy duck for three girls and it was definitely enough. No need for rice or any starters. The waiter cut the duck on our table which initially seemed weird but actually you can see that you get the whole piece of duck which is cut and not some leftovers;) in general the food was good and... First of all, let it be said that I have never left a review for a restaurant before, but my experience at the restaurant was so disappointing that I felt the need to share my experience. My friend and I were in China town looking for some afternoon dim sum when we stumbled upon this restaurant. On first glance, this... More

I ate at Haozhan twice over Easter; the first visit was based on appearance, the second based on experience. The interior is more modern than many Chinatown places, quite tightly packed and maybe a little gloomy - better lighting would help, but none of the garishness of some Chinese restaurants. No one goes to Chinatown for effusive service, but the... More

We went on the Saturday evening of Chinese New Year celebrations, so it was incredibly busy, but we were served promptly, the food was excellent and we were not made to feel rushed at all. There were a couple of mistakes with the food, but these were speedily rectified and we had no issues. The staff were literally running around,... More

I visited this restaurant with friends mid week. Moderately busy but we were attended to immediately. The servers were excellent - attentive and pleasant, with a good knowledge of the extensive menu. Our starters arrived within minutes of placing the order and our mains followed soon after. All the dishes were of high quality, very tasty and of good portion... More

Staying in Soho

Neighborhood Profile
Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighborhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
