This lived up to expectations on all fronts. Although we restricted ourselves to the set lunch menu - we were not disappointed. The food was exceptional (see below), imaginatively presented, and PLENTY OF IT - unusual and a nice change to the often miniscule helpings on offer from a number of two-Michelin star restaurants. Excellent Stellenbosch sparkling white to begin... More

Our meal was amazing, and the service even better! I would always expect the service to be good at a two Michelin starred restaurant, but I thought the staff at Hibiscus were particularly friendly and accommodating. We had the 6 course 'surprise' menu. It was lovely, and actually came with about 8/9 different small courses. It was quite fishy, so... More

We went for lunch and had the set menu. Although the food was good, there wasn't really anything that I thought was fabulous or anything that I'd rush back to try again. To be honest we visited a mionth ago, and I'm struggling to remember what I ate. Portions were on the small side, but perfectly adequate for lunch, and... More

We started with the Hibiscus Royale which was a fabulous tasting aperitif – definitely recommended. Staff were very friendly but service to start off with was little hit and miss – we were actually there an hour before we started on our first course but were did have have some lovely amuse bouche to keep us going – gruyere balls... My first Michelin-starred restaurant experience and what a wonderful experience it was! Reservation for two at 8pm. Decided to go for the six course taster menu. It was superb and worth every penny of the £100pp. The 'six' courses in fact are way more, with amuse bouches and palate cleansers thrown in. Don't panic if you're not getting full after... More

We returned to Hibiscus for my birthday. My wife is pregnant but was excellently catered for. One of her replacement courses was slightly underwhelming but only because it was slightly borrowed and re-imagined from another dish; it was still delicious. The service was impeccable but unimposing. The staff are capable, knowledgeable and flexible with a sparkle of humour. The cool... More

My wife and I got the 6 course tasting menu as a present for our wedding. We enjoyed every bit of it! The different courses were well balanced and we were excellent taking care of by the staff. A real treat!

A Tuesday lunch menu was very good had the six course taster .... Food excellent, a little wait for the puds but overall very nice indeed (we all loved the egg canapé! ) I'd go for the matched wines if I were you!

Clearly a very impressive restaurant but wasn't quite as good as I had hoped. The ingredients menu concept is a nice idea but none of the courses were particularly noteworthy and in fact we did jealously look over our shoulder at some a la carte dishes going to other tables at least once. Think there are better options in this... More

Neighborhood Profile
Mayfair
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.
