When did it become ok to treat guests as incapable of doing simple things? When I last checked I can poor my own wine....I was told off for trying! Distinctly odd....having said that outstanding food and presentation. Original and full of flavour - it is a gastronomic treat. The place is not huge... read more

Had lunch with the other half to celebrate a belated birthday. Enjoyed pretty much every taste, except as a previous dinner mentioned, the food isn't always hot enough. My pumpkin veloute was absolutely delicious but not warm enough to cope with the blue cheese royale centre which was, as it needed to be, cold. Once you mixed the two combinations... More

My husband and 2 friends surprised me with a meal here for my 40th birthday......wow, wow, wow!!!! We had a meal in the chefs development kitchen, cooked fresh in front of the 4 of us...Claude Bois came and said hello, which was so kind as he had a full restaurant! Words can't explain this experience 6 courses of the most... More

I went to Hibiscus with my partner and 2 friends mid February. We had the lunch menu which comprised of 3 courses, petit fours and 1/2 bottle of wine. This was reasonably priced and whilst the portions were small, they were delicious. There were also tasters from the chef which is always a nice touch. The service was ok, although... More

Booked as a surprise for my daughters birthday, front of house efficient from pre date confirmation to greeting us. This was a treat for us. Whilst seated the staffing was very variable and the majority of staff who served us where professional but wine pouring not attentive at all, whilst I do not mind pouring my own wine , I... More

We arrived in Hibiscus tonight, full of excitement to be away from the kids for a rare night out.... Unfortunately my wife felt unwell and thought she was going to faint in the restaurant. I spoke to the Maître d and he discretely spoke to the kitchen, he came back and asked if my wife was ok, he then told... More

Unbelievable dinner, looked after from start to finish, the food, service, ambience, absolutely everything was perfect. If your ever in London, you must must go! Take the wine package too, I cannot rate it highly enough!

Late Valentine's Day, early Christmas, forgotten anniversary find any excuse to have lunch there Perfect service, attentive but not intrusive, wonderful food and stunning value. The setting is calm, light blue grey, a little anodyne. The wine was good but didn't enchant. However the food consisted in the end of 6 not 3 courses if you include olives, amuse bouches... More

We took 18 of our senior staff, all from the food and hospitality industry, for a gourmet food experience and the 6 course taster menu and matching wines. As a 2 Michelin star 5 Rosett venue, top 4 ranking in UK and top 50 in the world..we were expecting an outstanding gourmet food and drinks service It did not match... More

I surprised my girlfriend with dinner at Hibiscus on Valentines Day. It proved to be a good decision. There was a 6 course menu on offer with dishes ranging from scallop carpaccio to venison. Each dish was wonderful in its own way but I think my favourite was the cod - the caramelised potatoes really made the dish. That said,... More

Neighborhood Profile
Mayfair
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.
