Set high up on the seventh floor of The Roof Gardens, offering amazing views of London's skyline, Babylon really is a cut above the rest. Your taste buds will be thrilled by the menus. The award-winning food at Babylon is best described as contemporary British and the menus change regularly to ensure only the freshest seasonal ingredients are used. There are Table d'Hote lunch menus available for two and three courses (Monday to Saturday) as well as a delicious Sunday Roast offering. Guests looking to dine al fresco can cosy up throughout the winter on our heated terrace to indulge in baked cheeses and fresh breads or enjoy a delicious fresh seafood menu in the summer. The restaurant can accommodate everything from an intimate dinner to lunch with friends. The private dining room is ideal for parties or meetings of up to 12 guests, with its own terrace overlooking the resident flamingos. For larger groups of up to 30 guests, a stylish, semi-private area can be booked and Babylon can also be hired exclusively for dinner and cocktail receptions for up to 120 guests. Babylon comes alive on Tuesday nights from 7.30Pm with the smooth tunes of live jazz. No need to bring your dancing shoes, just sit back and enjoy a delicious menu against a backdrop of live music. On Friday and Saturday evenings, guests can go to The Roof Gardens' private members' club on the sixth floor to continue their evening. Babylon at The Roof Gardens is a sky-high venue. The memory of mouth-watering cuisine, exceptional service and spectacular views will stay with you long after you have left.

Took some friends here on a Sunday for a wedding anniversary and baby shower celebration. The venue high up above London offers wonderful views of the skyline and service was exceptional. My wife and our friends greatly enjoyed the food and there was a good selection of wines on offer. The bill for a Sunday set lunch was under £50... More

Unusual and delightful location on a roof top in Kensington. Pricey but fine dining great for celebrations especially if the weather allows you out into the gardens which include live flamingoes.

I went here for lunch to celebrate my 30th birthday and it didn't disappoint. The fixed price lunch menu is a reasonably priced option, I had two courses of fish and they were heavenly. All of the allergens are listed next to the dishes which I find so helpful and much easier than asking for an allergen menu and being... More

I have been to the roof gardens, bar and club in the past but not the restaurant. On this occasion, I went for lunch at Babylon but sadly on a rainy day. However, the staff were friendly and attentive and the food and wine were delicious. The decor of the bar area is fabulous. I'm sure on a sunny day... More

I have been to this restaurant twice now and my third trip is well overdue. My friend and I wanted something different and boy did we get it! We went for lunch and chose something off the set menu, it was a while ago and I can't remember my main course but I will never forget the dessert, chocolate all... More

We returned to the Babylon Restaurant having thoroughly enjoyed our previous visit. Second time around, both the venue and the staff are excellent, but the food is not a patch on our previous visit. When we visited the lift was broken but there were staff on hand to redirect us. In the Restaurant we were very well looked after. We... More

Dear T S, Whilst it was lovely to hear that you had returned to visit us and that the venue and staff were as you remembered, I was very sorry to hear that you were disappointed by the food you received and that you felt it was not up to the same standard. This was my 2nd visit to this restaurant.. A beautiful day meant I had the chance to sit outside and take in the magnificent views of the Roof Gardens below. Just a very quick review to say I had a birthday lunch there on 12th August with my wife and 2yr old son. Apart from the food being amazing - the staff went above and beyond by talking to my son and keeping him entertained. The 2 greeters at the door were even more attentive and our son even gave... Had the goats cheese fritter and the ham hock and pineapple to start and then the crab linguine for main. Both the goats cheese and crab dishes were very small though thankfully the dessert was substantial and easily enough for two; a milk chocolate parfait with mint, strawberries, cream and meringue. Some interesting mocktails as well. Real highlight though is... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
