Perfect but for the service!

I love this place, the food is always of high quality, must have been around 7 times now! only downside is the service! Impossible to get another drink after the 1st and lets not get started on trying to get hold of the bill! Most importantly though, is the food, which is fantastic!

Found this restaurant by accident when looking for places that do steaks. Tucked down a side street near Holborn, this place is nothing to look at on the outside. Inside upstairs is a bar which seemed pleasant enough and a few tables. The main restaurant is down stairs. Glass front to the kitchen which is a nice touch. However, this... More

We had 2 rump steaks cooked to our taste and they proved to be the best steaks we have tasted in a long time. Very, very succulent and nice chips. Mushrooms and onion rings ordered separately -delicious. You could easily pay twice as much for a similar meal from famous steak houses- and there taste would fall well short!

The Bountiful Cow was a lovely little place, its a good size and set back from the main roads in the Holborn area. When we arrived, the greetings by the staff were very friendly and service continued to be excellent all night. We had the rump steak and chips - both were cooked exactly how we asked with the steak... More

The first problem we had was that the beer was on the turn; not bad enough to send back back but I swapped for my second pint onto the beer which my friend swapped away from (unknown to me). The food was alright, but the sauce was the same quality as my local Wetherspoons. Then the bill arrived, we were... More

Have been in the area many times, but saw the Bountiful and thought I'd give it a try with a good friend of mine. What a pleasant surprise. Good use of space in the bar, friendly atmosphere, and great food, tasty, well prepared and plentiful. It was quick and easy and good value. Definitely will visit again soon.

If you like meat, you'll like the cow. More specifically beef. At first it seems a little pricey but when you see the portion size and taste the quality of the food, you'll be satisfied. Good service, they accommodated 11 of us (even though we added one person without notice). Great stuff. I got the burger and chips. Standard, yet... More

I just love this restaurant which is why I only bring my nearest and dearest here. The food is fantastic.. Wine is quality...I always prefer to go earlier (7:00 pm ish) for dinner as it's cosier. The waitress is great, the waiter could learn from the waitress. However, overall it's a great evening at the Bountiful.... In my books still... More

I was intrigued by the marketing of this pub/restaurant but was a little disappointed by the dining experience. The main restaurant is in a basement, with no natural light, and the minimalist table settings reinforce the 'pubby' positioning. Maybe it was because I visited in a Tuesday, but there was a distinct lack of atmosphere to both the pub and... More
