Group of 18 out for Work Night Out

I booked the Bountiful Cow for a 18 people for a work night out. We all found the food really good and have a lovely time. The only small thing was we had a wait a little time to order our drinks and food, but considering we were a big group the over all experience was lovely and we had... read more

Visited with a group of 9 raucous colleagues, had a very well cooked steak and decent bottled of red. Echoing other reviews, do not be put off by the location, we sat downstairs in a decent sized dining area adjacent to open kitchen. Only downside was the chips... tasted a tad like oven chips, would expect something more special to... More

if you are looking for a quiet, slightly off the beaten track in WC1 with good beef and decently priced, then this is your place! interesting, fun and worth a visit.

I stumbled across the Bountiful Cow this week, and was pleasantly surprised by the whole experience! Don't be put off by the retro pub exterior, or mish-mash of the interior - it's a great place for steak. I dined there on a Monday evening, and it was packed. I guss that says something. We got the last available table upstairs,... More

As designer of The Bountiful Cow, I'm not the least bit put off by your view of what it looks like (retro exterior; mish-mash interior). "A great place for steak" and the rest of what you say is completely on the money! The exterior looks retro because-- well-- it IS retro. It's an unchanged pub design that was built in... More

Came here for an evening meal with my girlfriend. I ordered rib eye steak and my girlfriend fillet. The steaks were cooked to perfection, sautee mushrooms were out of this world...Chimichuri sauce yummy,yummy,yummy...For dessert we ordered panna cotta with home made raspberry sauce which was tremendous...Service was excellent, reasonably priced food and drinks menu....Malbec worth a try... Highly recommended...

My husband has visited a number of times with friends and always had tasty steak so we decided to visit during a family visit into The West End. Our children chose burger and club sandwich whilst my husband had ribeye and I sirloin steak. The children enjoyed their meals but my husband and I were disappointed with our food. The... More

I'm very glad your children enjoyed their meals, and apologise for your disappointment otherwise. If your steak and your husband's were overdone-- it can happen, but doesn't very often-- you should have sent them back. Chimichurri sauce is kind of soupy, but that's the way Argentinians and Uruguayans do it, therefore so do we! Our website asks that you bring... More

Sammac010, thank you for your review. We were very pleased and not at all surprised that your 10-year old thoroughly enjoyed the Bountyburger, because that puts him in the discerning league of a number of professional restaurant critics who love them as well. I am sorry that one of your steaks on our Steakboard Special seemed a bummer-- rump steaks... More

My colleague had been before and thought it would be worth another visit. How right he was. 1x lamb burger (really good) + 3x steak (praised highly) = 4x very satisfied customers. Service was very good, coffee was good and the main course were excellent.
