We chose this because he wanted a steak.. Nice little place up a side street with no other pubs restaurants etc so must rely on recommendations/ regular trade ... And Trip Advisor . No faulting the steak - it was lovely but the accompanying starter we ordered didn't arrive - the chips and onion rings were frozen and the goats... More

Thanks for "no faulting the steak," Sassencas. On your bill at The Bountiful Cow, I did a careful study of prices at London steakhouses a few months ago, comparing fine beef prices, like for like and gram by gram with ours, which I am happy to post to any who ask. Spoiler alert: The Bountiful Cow's prices are lower or... More

Having read the reviews for this place I decided it sounded like a great place with good food so we took a cab over from the City. On arrival we were shown to a cosy table and ordered some drinks. 10 minutes later they still hadn't arrived so I went to the bar & finally got my drinks. We ordered... More

The waitress on the night in question was perfectly sober, but was taken ill (nothiing catching). She had tried to soldier on, but Cveta our manager ordered her home. Apologies to Charlie 7635 and any other customers whose service may have been influenced without getting an explanation. Please come again-- our staff is normally in as tip top condition as... More

A group of 6 of us visited The Bountiful Cow on a Saturday evening as we were working in London over the weekend, to find that is not so busy on a Saturday night, but the food was still as good. Our starters were garlic prawns, rillettes of duck with toast, lemony greek salad and a soup of the day,... More

Having been to New York, Georgia, Arizona, Nevada and California plus Bexhill and Skegness, never repeat never have I ever had a steak as good as this. You would never walk down Eagle Street, you would struggle to find it as its tucked away off Holborn High Street, and the exterior would never win any prize in the architecture stakes... More

Eaten there for the second time tonight. I come specifically for the divine steak tartare which easily rivals a tartare from any top Parisian restaurant. As the restaurant is quite tucked away it never seems to be busy, not that thats a bad thing (for customers anyway). It deserves to be busier though! The food is terrific, cant wait to... More

We try to visit this restaurant whenever we are in London and are never disappointed. The food is fantastic and the service friendly and welcoming. The manageress is a real people person. Today we enjoyed a ribeye and sirloin and thoroughly enjoyed them. The sauces complemented them perfectly and the steaks were cooked as requested. Three pints of Adnams and... More

Came across this little restaurant a few years ago through opentable (then toptable) and have been coming back on trips to London ever since. The staff are friendly and the food is excellent and served without any long wait. Lovely restaurant 😃

Advise you to avoid the Bountiful Cow. Food is poor. Service too. I don;t know if my rump-steak was defrosted, it certainly tasted so. Asked for medium-rear, got medium-well. Did not touch the FLAT Peroni beer, but still had it charged. Don't go there if you have a choice.

I don't know what nationality has to do with it, but our Head Cook is British Australian. Our rump steaks are aged beef, currently Irish ones from Smithfield, extremely fine, and are never at any stage frozen. (Shudder!) If our expert grill chefs ever miss a call for the proper doneness (not in my experience), we invite and expect a... More

We went here as a big group. The place is hard to find, but I am very glad we did. We got seated in the basement, great place, friendly waiter. I had the burger, and it was delicious! One of the best I have ever had. Everyone loved their food :) Portiones are really big, so you will not leave... More
