Loud, friendly, expensive local restaurant

A good welcome for locals and other regulars, by not always as welcoming to outsiders especially if very crowded. Snacks at the bar are very popular. The food is good, the portions large. The food is traditional; very little innovation here. The wine list is excellent.

Found this restaurant by looking at TripAdvisor for restaurants as we were driving up to Victoria station, and couldn't be more impressed. The staff were friendly and attentive, food was excellent with great portion sizes (the whitebait that my husband had could have been shared by a family of 4!) Yes, it was loud - but in a good buzzy... More

The perfect place to haemorrhage cash. Good food, well cooked and friendly service. Don't take your granny - (you'll have to sell her)... Over £5 for one tiny shot of Lemoncello which you are encouraged to order!... Great looking pizza's and lots of pasta dishes to choose from. I had the steak of the day which was brilliant (and expensive)...... More

I decided to go to the restaurant on Saturday the 8th of August after reading really positive reviews on here. Upon entering it was a busy and loud restaurant like you would expect in London. The waiter came over to take our food order and we read out our list of starters, I then asked if my four year old... More

Our 'local' Italian. Pastas consistently excellent, portion sizes are a struggle to finish and great value considering. Excellent, friendly service, to the point where the manager once got us a cheap taxi home by pretending we were staff. Huge fan of this place, and it's sister restaurant Il Bordello in Wapping.

Friday is always busy, but this was a great evening meal! We managed to sit outside which was necessary as we had our dog with us. Very accommodating unlike most London restaurants. Food was very nice, I had the Veal Milanese and my wife the biggest salmon steak I have ever seen. We shared the grilled asparagus Asa starter which... More

The restaurant was recommended by the reception lady at the Limehouse Holiday Inn Express. We arrived at 12:45 just before the kitchen was due to open, but the staff opened early. I asked for a generous pasta portion of Spaghetti Bolognese as I needed carbs for the next day's cycle ride, and it was delivered! Excellent pasta and a nicely... More

Visited this restaurant on Saturday evening and I can not believe how rude the staff are. And at best the food is average! I would not visit this place again or recommend it, other than avoid, avoud, avoid! I don't know where to start with the level of rudenness of the waiter! It really was that bad! A two hour... More

This could be a great place and the food is pretty good. But they need to sort out the service. Recently, on my 2nd visit to La Figa, we were placed next to a foul mouthed table of loud young men. We asked the waiter to tell them to quieten down a bit. He didn't and offered to get the... More
