Good

Often pop in here, always busy, service good. Food is good sometimes too much oil is used. It really is time this place had a spruce up, carpet, lick of paint, and toilets totally need replacing.

1 of 5 stars Reviewed May 2, 2015 NEW

Ahmed Tandoori has been given a ZERO hygiene rating by the Food Standard Agency. The most recent inspection appears to have been October 2014 with a new inspection due shortly. This information has been available to the public but I doubt many people would ever consider the fact that hygiene may be an issue at a well-established restaurant. To 'achieve'... More

On the 25th of February 2015 I got served out of date food, it stunk up my kitchen and made a family member ill. The food is often oily and taste as if it's been sitting there for a while. I don't understand how a restaurant like this is still in service. not to mention the poor customer service.

I have enjoyed many nice takeaways from this restaurant and think its the best curry house for miles around....a little bit down at heel and maybe in need of a refurb but I have to say I have never been disappointed with the food ...excellent in a retro kind of way. If you like no nonsense Indian food from the... More

We stumbled upon this place late in the evening. Welcome was good, the place has an old fashioned almost tired feel to it but that is not really a criticism, if you have been to India then you won't mind the retro decor. The food was really nice which is the main thing, we had the set meal for two... More

A shopping expedition to Wimbledon, a recommendation by my daughter, and the central location culminated in our party deciding to stop by for a leisurely Sunday lunch. Warmly welcomed upon entering we were expecting the restaurant to be busy but because there were only a few diners we were able to be seated at a table of our choice. Although... More

I can see some people expecting Indian restaurants to be minimalist, almost art galleries with no sign of it being an Indian restaurant inside and super modern 'twists' on Indian food, maybe influenced by 17th century french cooking or Mongolia ... ... but that's not what you're going to get here. Thank Goodness. If you want food, solid Indian food,... More

We have been regulars at Ahmed Tandoori for many, many years and it never disappoints. No, the décor isn't modern, and yes, pickles are served in the traditional way - but to us that's all part of the charm. No attempts at modernising the menu either, so after 20 years+ they still serve the tastiest chicken shashlick in London, and... More

Having lived in Wimbledon for a few years now, I never looked twice at this place. However we decided to try out there Sunday special buffet lunch. It was surprisingly good and great value for money. Curry was very tasty and you could eat as much as you liked for under a tenner. Would definitely be going back there again.

Excellent Tandoori King Prawns and Chicken dishes, good wine at reasonable prices. They won't rush the service but the drinks come quickly and you get to munch papadoms with pickles. Gents toilet seat needs replacing - disappointing that something so obvious and inexpensive needs pointing out.
