I can see some people expecting Indian restaurants to be minimalist, almost art galleries with no sign of it being an Indian restaurant inside and super modern 'twists' on Indian food, maybe influenced by 17th century french cooking or Mongolia ... ... but that's not what you're going to get here. Thank Goodness. If you want food, solid Indian food,... More

We have been regulars at Ahmed Tandoori for many, many years and it never disappoints. No, the décor isn't modern, and yes, pickles are served in the traditional way - but to us that's all part of the charm. No attempts at modernising the menu either, so after 20 years+ they still serve the tastiest chicken shashlick in London, and... More

Having lived in Wimbledon for a few years now, I never looked twice at this place. However we decided to try out there Sunday special buffet lunch. It was surprisingly good and great value for money. Curry was very tasty and you could eat as much as you liked for under a tenner. Would definitely be going back there again.

Excellent Tandoori King Prawns and Chicken dishes, good wine at reasonable prices. They won't rush the service but the drinks come quickly and you get to munch papadoms with pickles. Gents toilet seat needs replacing - disappointing that something so obvious and inexpensive needs pointing out.

The restaurant only has windows at the very front entrance so the whole venue feels dark and close. The tables were so close together that you will be a part of the next table's conversation as they will be in yours! Waiters file up and down and apparently only one man can take your order, who will be in no... More

I was in the area yesterday and everywhere was packed. We were grateful that this place had LOTS of free tables when the rest of the town was overwhelmed. You can really tell why. Firstly the popadoms chutneys are laid out on the table before you get there. Lord knows how long they had been there. I have never ever... More

Having lived in Wimbledon for 14 years I have no idea why we have never tried this restaurant before! Traditional decor, very friendly professional staff, a varied menu with usual favourites and excellent service. Curries were very good although aubergine side dish was extremely oily but very tasty! The waiter even gave me a pot of coconut relish to take... More

I've been here umpteen times over the last ten years with various friends. Me and my partner were there again last Saturday night and turned up without a reservation but had no problem getting a table as, I think, did the party of three men who arrived immediately after us. As always, the welcome we received was lovely, the food... More

Started eating here again after a few years break. Forgot how good it was. OK it can get busy and they always say a table will be ready in 5 minutes which it never is which is a bit irritating unless you are used to it. That aside the currys are excellent and it's pretty good value too. Good location... More

Good food, reasonably priced. I love the Sag with rice. This restaurant is centrally located close to all the Wimbledon shopping. A full Indian menu to chose from. I've been going here for 7 years and the quality is consistent.
