The food is just amazing, I consider this place the top 5 in London. The problem is the premises are too small and they try to squeeze all these hungry people that won't leave because they know this is the best place to eat Thai food in London.

So I gave this place a second chance, a huge lack in staff as the place was very packed. When me and a fellow friend took our seats, it was like we were invisible no staff aporached us for service. I had to get up for a menu, after we had ordered food, it had taken 45 mins to come...... More

Visited this place last week. Service was awful, the waiters were all disinterested, one gave us our dish and didn't even know what it was, he was looking so into it, i thought he was going to tip it over at one point. I had a very bad tummy after eating there, i had beef by the way. Food is... More

This is one of my favourite 'cheap eats' places in London. Spicy Basil is packed virtually all the time, and for good reason. You can eat fresh, spicy, delicious Thai food for around a fiver. Don't expect any frills - you may be placed next to strangers and the service can be brusque - but this is part of the... More

We used to live in the area and this was our favourite restaurant for 2 years. We went back after 2 years. We waited 15 minutes to be seated. When it was almost our turn somebody turned up and asked for a table for one. There were at least 4 empty seats around the restaurant and they wanted to have... More

I come here a lot when I am working for a take away. The food is reasonably priced and the wait isn't too bad. It is always busy but as one of the best Thai restaurants I have ever been too it's understandable.

We dropped into Spicy Basil for a quick pre-cinema supper. It's a compact space, with an open kitchen, some people hanging about for takeaway and diners sharing tables that are close together. This is a no-frills cafe, serving really fresh cooked-to-order stir fry Thai/Sino food. Beef Pad Thai and Sweet & Sour Chicken (of the fresh, non-sticky prefab variety) were... More

Very good value and authentic tasting Thai fast food in a casual dining environment. Gets pretty crowded but the staff are helpful and worth the wait.

Been enjoying Spicy Basil since I moved to Kilburn 5 years ago... best to have in the restaurant where the cooks sort it all out right in front of you...but also good as a takeaway. Pad Thai and Creamy Red Curry are my go to dishes but I've never had anything dissapointing... It's not michelin star but it is excellent,... More

Spicy Basil is a fun experience. You should expect to walk out of the restaurant smelling of oil and fried food, but hey, the food totally makes it worth it. We ordered a lot off the menu - it was hard to pick but we settled on the spicy papaya salad, fish cakes and prawns, spring rolls, as well as... More
