Good value but busy

This resturant gets very busy. The reason? Good Thai food at an excellent price. I recommend avoiding peak times.

60% of the Resturant sale based on take away and delivery and 40% sale is for eat in , lately they opens downstairs area for eating in , and since then the service went downhill dramatically, the kitchen cannot copy anymore and the food takes too long , the greed is destroying this lovely restaurant which I used to come... Very busy and with good reason. Good value - most meals about 5.50. Large servings and sooo tasty. You need to time it right to get a table but well worth a wait if necessary. One waiter was a bit sour but the other one was delightful. Recommended.

The food at spicy basil is very very nice! This place is more like a cafe/hawker, where the staff are helpful and polite. The only negative thing I can say is, you may wait a while for your food to arrive, and this is only because this place is very busy and the food is cooked fresh! In all it's... More

In my opinion the best Thai food around. Incredible value for money. The creamy red Thai curry and Tom yum are my favourites.

Spicy Basil is a little jewel: the staff is very welcoming and always smiling, the food is really fresh and tasty, cooked in front of you, at prices that are really low, even for the area. Because all this, the place is always packed, so finding a table is not easy, but it is worth waiting: you won't be disappointed!

I usually would go here for dinner whenever i had no time to cook. It was always tasty and fresh. I found a new dish I had liked called the green prawn curry. I had it last week but it was not the same. The prawns has a bad smell and a weird texture. My dish took longer than usual... More

This restaurant might not be a looker but it is always packed to the gills and at lunchtime seat are hard to find. What is great is that they have just opened up the basement so now there is even more room. Most dishes are £5.50 (better when it was £5 a few months ago) and they are all uniformly... More

Always a busy restaurant yet manage to serve the best Thai food. Gets five stars purely for deliciousness to dollar ratio. Fresh tasty Thai food for £5.50, tried the veggie pad thai and green curry, both excellent and full of flavour. We went a bit later in the night so found a table easily, and the service was friendly and... More
