Best in this area.

Went here for after work drink. As usual, a good selection of beers & good service. Has to be the best pub in the area.

I booked an area at the Hoop & Grapes to watch Mayweather vs Pacquiao. They were brilliant at helping to organise an area for my group and allowed us to pre-order drinks. During the night they were serving excellent food and the drinks service was speedy. All the staff were extremely friendly and the atmosphere at the pub was great... More

We hired the function room on the 1st floor here for an evening buffet with our clients. There were about 40 of us. The Function Room is brilliant, it has it's own bar and access to a lovely outside balcony. The staff were absolutely excellent, namely Mike, the Manager, Emma at the bar and Paul who tended to our every... More

I have been organising Christmas Parties, for a large group of my friends (around 30 of us) for 7 years now and I can say with my hand on my heart, this is the best venue we have ever celebrated in. The food was delicious, the staff were fantastic and the whole event was so well organised that I find... More

About a dozen of us met in one of The Hoop's rooms to hear a new comedy show run-through and the manager Mike and staff could not have been more accommodating or helpful. The pub is warm, friendly with a great selection of beers and wines (house wines were excellent) and a real gem on Farringdon. There is also heated... More

This quaint pub is situated on Aldgate High Street, close to the tube station, and is quite an amazing place to look at from the outside as the building has 'moved' about 18 inches over the years and you can see this in the line of the windows. The food is basic but very good quality, and the service we... More

I wonder how many times I have either walked straight past this place or been within tasting distance of a cracking pint that they serve here. Lovely pub as tucked away as you can be in central London. Great staff , great ranges of ales and continental beers and seemingly good choice of food with plenty of diners. No food... More

Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
